Xiang Hengxi estimated that it was about time, so he returned home. The house was quiet.
There wasn't a soul in sight, so she called out, "Xiao Kui, A Yu?"
After calling out several times without getting a response, he assumed they had gone out together and went upstairs.
To my surprise, I saw Luo Xikui squatting on the ground at the corner of the stairs. There was a cardboard box next to her, and some things were scattered around the box.
He felt that these things looked very familiar, so he bent down, picked up a large plush bear, squatted down in front of Luo Xikui, and asked in a low voice, "What's wrong? What happened?"
Luo Xikui's face was still buried in her knees and she didn't lift it up, she just shook her head.
"Did Ayu bully you?" Xiang Hengxi suddenly realized why these things looked familiar. They were all gifts that Xu Ziyu had given her, but she had begged for most of them and had always treasured them like precious gems.
For example, the bear in his hand was a Christmas gift that Xu Ziyu gave her one year. She kept it in a glass cabinet and was afraid that it would get dusty, so she wouldn't let anyone else touch it.
Why is it lying on the ground now and no one cares?
"Brother, could you help me throw these away?" Luo Xikui took a deep breath and asked in a hoarse voice. As she was tidying up, she realized how many gifts Tuantuan had given her. Gifts for holidays, birthdays, and even for improving her grades.
Even if it was just a pen, an eraser, or a pencil case, she kept them all carefully.
"Aren't these all your treasures? Why are you suddenly throwing them away?" Xiang Hengxi looked at the full cardboard box and frowned slightly. He then realized that the problem between his sister and Ayu was more serious than he had thought.
“It’s not anymore, you can throw it away.” Luo Xikui slowly stood up, no longer looking at those things, and, supporting herself against the wall, dragged her feet upstairs, afraid that if she looked at them again, she wouldn’t be able to bear to part with them.
Xiang Hengxi watched her retreating figure as she went upstairs, then looked at the cardboard box again, his brow furrowing once more.
He bent down, picked up the few items that had fallen out, put them back in the box, and carried the box downstairs.
Luo Xikui returned to her room, as if all her strength had been drained, and lay on the bed staring blankly at the ceiling.
After a while, Xiang Hengxi's voice rang out, accompanied by a knock on the door.
Luo Xikui did not respond, and Xiang Hengxi had already pushed the door open and come in.
He crossed his arms, leaned against the desk, looked at her, and said, "I've already thrown it away. You can still regret it now. The trash isn't collected until six in the evening."
Luo Xikui shook her head and said, "Brother, don't mention him anymore, and don't make such arrangements on purpose."
"What misunderstanding can't be explained?" Xiang Hengxi had been in the military for many years and wasn't that thoughtful. He just felt that if two people liked each other, everything could be resolved.
"If there's no misunderstanding, then there's no need to explain." Luo Xikui pursed her lips. She couldn't mention that matter to anyone, not even her closest relatives. She had to protect Xin Chun.
Seeing her like this, Xiang Hengxi had nothing more to say, and only said, "I'm going back to the army. You need to think carefully before making any decisions."
"I understand." Luo Xikui gave Xiang Hengxi a smile.
Xiang Hengxi turned and left her room, preparing to return to her unit. This time, she would have a month of closed training, and they would have to solve their own problems.
After hearing the door close, Luo Xikui turned her face to the side and rested her head on the pillow. After closing her eyes, a small patch of the pillowcase under her cheek was wet.
