Chapter 1561, Side Story 071: A Soulmate

Luo Xikui drifted in and out of sleep, then woke up and fell asleep again.

The next day, she woke up feeling very uncomfortable in her shoulders and back. She realized she couldn't keep wallowing in self-pity; it was just a breakup, and life had to go on.

After thinking it through, she got up to run and exercise as usual, and practiced the piano as usual.

After playing the G minor march twice more, her phone rang; it was Cheng Ming calling.

She answered immediately, asking with concern, "Is your cold better?"

"With your concern, of course it's good." Cheng Ming's voice had a natural flirtatious tone, but it was magnetic, flirtatious without being greasy. He then said seriously, "I'm really sorry this time, I even made you find a partner at the last minute, but I watched the recording of the concert, it was perfect."

Luo Xikui smiled, knowing from his voice that he was truly alright, and she felt relieved. Cheng Ming wasn't from Yihai; he had lived abroad since childhood and was an American citizen of Chinese descent. This was his first time in Yihai, and he was suffering from acclimatization issues, which made her, as his host, feel quite embarrassed.

"Do you have time to grab a bite? I've been feeling really stifled these past few days." Cheng Ming was always direct in his speech, and he was equally direct in making invitations.

"Are you still staying at that hotel?" Luo Xikui asked as she walked to the wardrobe to pick out clothes while making a phone call. "How about I take you to eat some delicious food in Yihai?"

"Okay, come quick, I'm at Wanli Piano Shop now."

"Wait here, I'll come pick you up." Luo Xikui hung up the phone and took out her clothes to change.

A trench coat, a T-shirt, and white pencil pants—it couldn't be simpler and more casual, but this outfit looks exceptionally good on her.

I grabbed a handbag and car keys and hurried out the door.

She got her driver's license last year, but hadn't driven much on the road, so she drove carefully and slowly.

When they arrived at Wanli Piano Shop, Cheng Ming was itching to play the piano.

This guy only looks like a prince when he's playing the piano; otherwise, he doesn't seem to have anything to do with being a pianist.

"Beautiful Luo, you've finally arrived." Cheng Ming stood up and walked towards Luo Xi Kui.

Luo Xikui smiled and said, "Sorry, it's inevitable that a new driver will be a little slow."

The two hugged briefly and walked together to the car.

Cheng Ming fastened his seatbelt, glanced at Luo Xikui's face, and said, "Why are your eyes so swollen?"

"I guess I didn't get enough rest." Luo Xikui rubbed her eyelids and then started the car.

"I heard from Qin Fei that you're going to Japan to record a DVD next Monday. Didn't you say last time that you hadn't spent time with your family in a long time and wanted to stay in Yihai for a while longer? Why are you in such a hurry?" Cheng Ming said casually, fiddling with his hair as he looked in the rearview mirror.

"The plans have changed." Luo Xikui was already used to his narcissistic behavior and casually asked, "What about you? When are you going back to Vienna?"

"The orchestra doesn't have any performances lately, so I'm going to the Netherlands."

"What are you going to the Netherlands for?" Luo Xikui asked, puzzled.

"It's a secret." Cheng Ming smiled and added, "I'll tell you when the time comes."

Luo Xikui was just chatting casually and didn't force anything. Her relationship with Cheng Ming could be described as that of kindred spirits.

The car stopped at the destination, and the two got out, chatting and laughing, and entered a large courtyard.

“This kind of architecture is quite rare in Yihai,” Luo Xikui said to Cheng Ming, introducing the private restaurant.

Although Cheng Ming was born and raised abroad, he is very interested in Chinese culture, which is why he speaks Chinese so fluently.

The two chose a seat in the lobby, ordered their food, and then chatted about the band.
