Chapter 1573, Side Story 083: Feigning Innocence

After a while, several more sheets of paper were passed over.

Xu Ziyu reached out and took it, then sat down and looked down at it.

One of them is a medical record. The patient's name is Luo Xikui, and the diagnosis is four and a half weeks pregnant.

One of them is an ultrasound image from back then. The name was still Luo Xikui, and the image showed an embryo.

The next one is the surgical consent form, and the name signed on it is also Luo Xikui.

This is her handwriting; he would never mistake it. However, the address and other information were false, while the ID number was indeed hers.

The last photo was a copy of her ID card placed over the surgical consent form, her face clearly visible.

Xu Ziyu frowned, repeatedly examining the handwriting, trying to find any trace of imitation, but to no avail. This was Luo Xikui's handwriting. She had a little habit when writing the character "Kui" that others could not imitate.

She begged him so much not to investigate...

Bang!

The water glass fell to the ground, splashing water everywhere, and shards of porcelain were scattered all over the floor.

Xu Ziyu, his face pale, snapped back to reality, took out a lighter from the drawer, burned a few pieces of paper, and poured the ashes into the trash.

"Green Source Coffee Shop, send the original over immediately," Xu Ziyu said coldly to the consultants on the phone.

"Yes, Mr. Xu."

Xu Ziyu hung up the phone, grabbed his coat, and went outside, asking the company's cleaning staff to come in and clean up the broken porcelain shards.

As soon as he left, several female employees sitting near the office door started gossiping.

"Mr. Xu seems to be in a bad mood. Could it be that the marketing plan from the second marketing department is not good?"

"This proposal was written by Xin Chun, who is an old classmate of President Xu. We should give him face by writing it. It shouldn't be because of this."

"Who can say for sure? I don't think Mr. Xu is going to give face to that old classmate."

"Yeah, yeah, I saw her rushing to deliver lunch, but she didn't look too good when she came out," the third person chimed in, gossiping.

"Another toad trying to eat swan meat. Doesn't he even consider what kind of background and appearance Mr. Xu's girlfriend has? If you ask me, she's not even as pretty as Sister Li, let alone the violinist."

"Alright, alright, get back to work." Someone saw Xin Chun approaching and quickly gestured to them.

When they turned around, they saw Xin Chun standing not far away with photocopied documents. They immediately fell silent and pretended to be busy with their work.

Xin Chun walked back to her desk from the copy room. Thinking about how Xu Ziyu looked so unwell when he left, she felt like something was wrong.

She suddenly stood up, knocking the folder off the table.

"Xiao Xin?" The team leader looked up at her, his brows furrowing slightly.

"I'm sorry." Xin Chun snapped out of her daze and immediately bent down to pick up the things.

I couldn't concentrate on work in the afternoon, especially after seeing Xu Ziyu return with a livid face, which made me even more uneasy.

She thought for a moment, then got up, went to the stairwell, and called Luo Xikui.

"Xiao Kui, what should we do? A Yu is investigating that matter." Xin Chun's expression was calm, but her voice feigned the trembling of a god.

Luo Xikui panicked upon hearing this and quickly asked, "Did he ask you?"

"No, but..."

"Don't say anything when I ask you anything, just push it all onto me." Luo Xikui said calmly, "Anyway, I signed it and used my ID, so you don't need to worry."

"What if he misunderstands you?" Xin Chun had achieved her goal and looked relaxed, but her voice was filled with worry.

“Me?” Luo Xikui gave a bitter smile, her gaze becoming distant. She narrowed her eyes slightly and uttered, “It doesn’t matter what happens to me.”
