Just as he was experiencing excruciating pain in his knee, the light turned red, and pedestrians were allowed to cross the street.
He endured the pain and tried to chase after it, but before he could run a few steps, a bicycle rode up to him.
He dodged to the side, but tripped on the step. The pain in his knee was unbearable, and he fell to the ground.
The man on the bicycle immediately stopped and apologized in broken Japanese.
Xu Ziyu pressed his knee, sweat beading on his forehead, gritted his teeth and looked at the road again. Luo Xikui had already crossed to the other side.
He looked away, braced himself against the ground to get up, and the man immediately tried to help him up, but he replied in Japanese, "No need to help me!"
The uncle was anxious to take him to the hospital, but he tried twice and fell back down each time.
He had experienced this countless times in the hospital's rehabilitation room, and no matter how painful it was, he could always get up on his own.
After crossing the road, Luo Xikui did not hear Xu Ziyu call her to stop. She breathed a sigh of relief and walked straight towards the recording studio.
After walking a few steps, my heart started beating rapidly for no reason, and I felt that something was wrong.
Her steps slowed down, and she turned around uneasily. She saw a group of people gathered across the street, and through the gaps in the crowd, she spotted the leather shoes Xu Ziyu was wearing today.
Could something have happened to him?!
Luo Xikui's pupils contracted, and she quickly turned around and ran back, pushing through the crowd to see Xu Ziyu lying on the ground.
"Ayu!" She hurriedly reached out to help him.
Xu Ziyu pushed her away, his face pale: "Weren't you leaving? Why did you come back!"
Luo Xikui was pushed so hard she almost fell, but after regaining her balance, she reached out to help him up.
He slapped her hand away, his eyes bloodshot. He was the last person he wanted to see him so weak and helpless, and yet she had seen it.
"Stop fooling around, where did you bump into?" Luo Xikui saw that his face was getting worse and his forehead was covered in cold sweat. He must be in great pain somewhere. She immediately took out her phone and dialed emergency services.
She couldn't speak Japanese well, so she asked someone for help.
Xu Ziyu finally managed to stand up on his own, enduring the pain, and took a step to walk away.
Luo Xikui had just retrieved her phone when she saw him leave. She walked around to his side, spreading her arms to stop him from leaving, saying, "The ambulance will be here soon."
"Get out of the way." He didn't want to go to the hospital, and he didn't want her to know how embarrassing he was.
It took him four whole years to be able to walk like a normal person, but a fall brought him back to reality. He was no longer the same as before. No matter how well he walked, he still had an artificial bone in his knee, and his body's conditioned reflexes were slower than those of ordinary people.
"No way!" Luo Xikui hugged Xu Ziyu's waist; she had been terrified when she saw what happened from across the street.
“Luo Xikui!” He tugged at her arm.
While the two were arguing and at an impasse, an ambulance arrived, and the paramedics got out.
In the end, Xu Ziyu was taken to the ambulance.
When the doctor asked him where it hurt, he replied in Japanese.
Luo Xikui couldn't understand, but she saw the doctor's brows furrow and he also became nervous.
The doctor wanted to lift up his trouser leg to examine him, but he stopped him and said to Luo Xikui, "Turn your face away."
Luo Xikui thought they were checking some private parts, so she immediately turned her head away.
Xu Ziyu looked at the back of her head before slowly rolling up her trouser leg for the doctor to examine.
The doctor gently pressed on his knee, and he groaned in pain.
Hearing the noise, Luo Xikui couldn't help but secretly glance back, only to see that his knee was swollen like a steamed bun, looking quite serious.
