Xin Chun watched the two of them chatting and laughing, like a mother and daughter. She slowly turned her gaze back to the project plan that she had been working on for several nights in a row.
Despite her hard work, she couldn't compare to Luo Xikui playing a single tune.
That's true. After all, Luo Xikui is currently the most sought-after violin prodigy in China, and all the media outlets are showering her with praise, making her seem like a fairy descended from heaven.
"Then it's settled." Ni Sitian finally made the decision, took Xin Chun and Luo Xikui's hands together, and said with a smile, "You two do a good job this time."
Luo Xikui froze, feeling Xin Chun's hand was incredibly cold.
However, Xin Chun smiled faintly, as if that sharp-tongued version of herself had never existed.
Luo Xikui felt her hair stand on end and felt extremely uncomfortable, so she withdrew her hand.
"Then I'll head back now." Xin Chun took the project proposal and got up to leave.
"Stay for dinner, Xiao Yu should be back soon." Ni Sitian asked her to stay for dinner as it was getting late.
Xin Chun glanced at Luo Xikui, about to refuse, when the door opened.
The three looked towards the door and saw Xu Ziyu push the door open and come in.
When Luo Xikui saw Xu Ziyu, she couldn't help but take two steps forward.
Xu Ziyu was about to change into slippers, but when he saw Luo Xikui, he was stunned and forgot to change his shoes. He immediately walked towards her.
"When did you get back? Why didn't you say anything?" Although Xu Ziyu's expression didn't change much, the joy in his eyes was undeniable.
"It's a surprise, isn't it? You didn't say anything last time before you came." Luo Xikui smiled, pursing her lips. If it weren't for the fact that there were other people in the living room, she probably would have pounced on her.
Xu Ziyu looked at her hand hanging by her side and, without any hesitation, took it in his hand.
Ni Sitian smiled as she watched the two of them, quite pleased with the scene; they were a perfect match, a golden couple.
"You're back just in time. We were just about to eat. I'll go see if Aunt Qin has finished cooking. You three, please sit down first," Ni Sitian said with a smile, heading towards the kitchen.
"Why are you still holding my hand? I'll go help in the kitchen too," Luo Xikui whispered to Xu Ziyu. She felt that if she wanted to be someone's daughter-in-law, she should at least make some progress.
"Are you going to make things worse?" Xu Ziyu smiled faintly, squeezed her palm and said, "My mother knows your own limitations. She'll probably feel sorry for your violin-playing hands and just sit there and wait to be fed."
“How can the past and the present be the same?” Luo Xikui muttered.
"Then tell me what's different." Xu Ziyu shook her hand.
"You know perfectly well what I'm asking." Luo Xikui squeezed his hand back.
The two hadn't seen each other for a few days, and their sweetness only grew stronger. They talked as if no one else was around.
After Luo Xikui glanced at Xin Chun, she tried to pull her hand away, but Xu Ziyu did not do as she wished, and instead held on even tighter.
Seeing the two of them so deeply in love, Xin Chun didn't say anything and simply went into the kitchen.
"It's not right for me to just sit here and wait to eat." After being made to sit down, Luo Xikui felt even more impolite when she saw Xin Chun enter the kitchen.
"You've already packed everything and brought it to my door, what's wrong with that?" Xu Ziyu glanced at the suitcases in the living room and teased, suppressing a laugh.
"..." Luo Xikui's cheeks flushed. She did seem a bit impatient. She hadn't even gone home and came to find him with her luggage. If her brothers found out, they would definitely say that girls are more outgoing.
