Chapter 1649, Side Story 159: The Last Time

After Xu Ziyu escorted Luo Xikui home, he received a phone call.

It was Xin Chun calling. He frowned slightly, but still answered the phone.

On the other end of the phone came Xin Chun's drunken voice, rambling incoherently.

Xu Ziyu was about to hang up and ignore it when he heard a male voice on the other end: "Sir, I'm a bartender at Meiye. Your friend is drunk here and can't pay the bill. Could you please come and pick him up?"

Before Xu Ziyu could respond, there was another burst of noise on the other end, and then with a bang, the phone was hung up.

He tried calling again but couldn't get through. He frowned and then called Xin Zikai instead.

Xin Zikai thought of Su Yan tonight and drank quite a bit. He had already gone to bed when he got home, but was woken up by the phone. His voice was a little hoarse and he sounded a bit drunk when he answered the phone.

Upon hearing his voice, Xu Ziyu knew it was impossible for him to pick up Xin Chun. After saying a few words, he hung up the phone and drove to the bar on his own.

Upon arriving at the bar, Xu Ziyu walked under the dazzling laser lights and saw Xin Chun still twirling on stage, surrounded by men taking advantage of her.

He grabbed her wrist, paid the bill, and dragged her out of the bar, ignoring whether she had lost her shoe or hit her head, stuffing her into the back seat of his car like trash.

He slammed the door shut and got into the driver's seat.

I started the car and drove towards the Xin family's house.

Xin Chun was drunk and rambling incoherently on the way, and Xu Ziyu's face grew increasingly grim. If it weren't for Xin Zikai's sake, he wouldn't have bothered with her at all.

After driving to the Xin family's house as fast as he could, he got out of the car and tried to pull her out, but she clung to the car door and refused to get out, slurring her words drunkenly: "Isn't it just that you like Luo Xikui's liveliness and initiative? I can do that too. What she can do, I can do as well. Why can't you turn around and see me..."

Xu Ziyu released her grip, looked at her indifferently, and said coldly, "You and she are incomparable. You've never been on the same level. No one will compare you. Whether you're really drunk or faking it, please get out of my car."

“Ah Yu, you can’t possibly have no feelings for me at all, otherwise why would you come to pick me up, Ah Yu…” Xin Chun opened her arms and lunged at Xu Ziyu from the car, trying to hug him.

Xu Ziyu dodged to the side, causing her to fall directly to the ground. He didn't even try to grab her. After slamming the car door shut, he looked indifferently at Xin Chun, who had fallen to the ground.

In the dead of winter, on a concrete floor, and dressed in thin clothing, you can imagine how painful the fall must have been.

"This is the only time, and the last time." Xu Ziyu watched her struggle to crawl on the ground and then collapse, and simply pressed the doorbell.

The childhood friendship had been completely eroded by her disgusting actions. He was only doing this out of consideration for Xin Zikai, and there would be no next time.

"Ayu, no, Ayu, I love you. I shouldn't have been so proud. I shouldn't have kept it to myself..." Xin Chun finally got up, her steps unsteady, and tried to grab Xu Ziyu's hand.

Xu Ziyu wouldn't let her touch him at all, and said coldly, "Xin Chun, that's enough! Not everyone can tolerate you indefinitely out of pity!"

At that moment, the Xin family's gate opened, and Xin Zikai came out wearing a coat, squinting as he adjusted his eyes to the headlights: "Is that Ziyu and Xiaochun?"

"Uncle Xin, she's drunk." Xu Ziyu didn't say much, then said, "I'm leaving now."
