Chapter 1675, Side Story 185: Returning to Dust

About half an hour later, Luo Xikui came out of the small room for visitors in the detention center and walked to Xiang Hengxi's side.

"Are you done talking? What did she say?" Xiang Hengxi asked in a low voice as they walked out together.

“She said she regretted it that morning.” Luo Xikui sniffed.

Xiang Hengxi believed this, otherwise, why would she have buried him and then suddenly dug him up, cleaned his body, and placed him on the bed?

Evil thoughts can erupt in an instant, which is why impulsiveness is the devil; a momentary lapse in judgment can lead to a lifetime of consequences.

"The suspect in cell 203 committed suicide! Call an ambulance immediately!"

Suddenly, a commotion arose behind them. The two turned around and saw Xin Chun, who was supposed to be escorted back to the detention cell, being carried out by several prison guards in a flurry of activity.

Luo Xikui saw that Xin Chun's neck had been cut open, and blood was gushing out continuously, dripping all over the ground. She and Xiang Hengxi rushed over.

When they left the hospital, only the last rays of sunlight remained in the sky.

The sun sank slowly, until even its afterglow disappeared, leaving only the gray sky.

Luo Xikui got into the car with Xiang Hengxi and finally couldn't hold back her tears.

They've known each other since they were two years old, a full twenty years now. They grew up together and were once so close.

The police said the razor blade was taken out of her mouth, and perhaps she had it in her mouth since the night she was arrested; she probably didn't want to live anymore.

"This is the result she chose herself." Xiang Hengxi was also saddened, but as a soldier, and a special forces soldier at that, he had already witnessed all sorts of cruel events, which had forged his heart into a strong one.

“Compared to spending the rest of his life in prison filled with regret, this ending might be a relief.” He patted his younger sister’s head.

From a young age, she was more emotionally delicate, sensitive, and abundant than others, which is why she was able to express so much in her music. However, being emotionally rich also means being more easily hurt, and these tears flowed like a flood.

She only stopped when she drove all the way home, but her eyes were swollen like goldfish.

He said a few words to Hengxi and his parents, and then saw Luo Xikui upstairs.

Luo Xikui said she wanted to be alone, so Xiang Hengxi came out.

As soon as he stepped outside, he saw his parents' worried expressions. He pursed his lips and said, "Xiao Kui will fix it herself, don't worry."

Xiang Zhilan sighed deeply. The New Year was just around the corner, how could so many things have happened?

Shen Muzhi patted Xiang Zhilan's shoulder to comfort her.

Looking at his parents' loving relationship, Xiang Hengxi couldn't help but think of the little woman who always made him angry, and suddenly he really wanted to see her.

Thinking this way, he did just that, telling his parents before going downstairs.

"Have you noticed that Hengheng has been acting a bit strange lately?" Xiang Zhilan frowned at Shen Muzhi as she watched her eldest son walk away.

"What's strange about it?" Shen Muzhi wasn't that observant.

"It's like I'm never home."

“After he joined the army, he was rarely at home.”

"But he doesn't stay out all night. He's on vacation recently, and it seems like he stays out more often."

"It might be a mission, but it's a military secret, so I can't say."

"But I saw a hickey on his neck this morning."

"..." Shen Muzhi couldn't explain any further, and asked in surprise, "You mean Aheng is in a relationship?"

Xiang Zhilan nodded solemnly: "Most likely."
