Chapter 1679, Side Story 189: Heading to Germany

Luo Xikui was taken aback by his question, and smiled: "How did you know I went to Berlin?"

"Your partner is here, so why wouldn't you be?" Cheng Ming chuckled.

"You ran into him?" Luo Xikui was somewhat surprised, as she knew that Cheng Ming had a concert in Berlin recently.

"Haha, he really is in Berlin! I knew I wasn't mistaken." Cheng Ming had a stomachache today and went to the hospital. He saw a nurse pushing a wheelchair in the distance and the person looked familiar, so he called Luo Xikui.

"Did you run into him at the hotel?" Luo Xikui could only think of places like these.

"The hospital? Don't you know? I thought you were there too. He's sick, didn't you stay with him?" Cheng Ming retorted.

Luo Xikui frowned, wondering if she had misheard or if Cheng Ming had misspoke due to poor Chinese. She then repeated in English, "hospital?"

"Yes, she was wearing a hospital gown and being pushed around in a wheelchair by a nurse," Cheng Ming explained clearly.

Luo Xikui's expression changed as she recalled Xu Ziyu's somewhat pale face.

Has his knee problem recurred?! He went to Germany for treatment, not on a business trip?!

Luo Xikui gripped her phone tightly, hung up Cheng Ming's call, and sent a text message to Xu Ziyu.

After several rings without an answer, her face grew increasingly grim, so she went online to check flights to Berlin.

There's a bus at midnight, and it's almost 10:30 now, so she can still make it.

Luo Xikui put away her phone, acted swiftly and decisively, quickly packed a few clothes, grabbed her passport and bag, and pulled her suitcase out.

Hearing such a commotion, Xiang Hengxi naturally got up and went out to see what was going on.

"Brother, I'm going to Germany. Please tell Mom and Dad that I'll call when I get there." Luo Xikui carried her suitcase downstairs.

Xiang Hengxi frowned. Seeing that it was getting late and Uncle Chao should be asleep, he said, "It's inconvenient to take a taxi this late. I'll drive you."

Xiang Hengxi didn't know why she was in such a hurry, but he trusted that his sister was sensible, so he quickly went over and carried her luggage to the garage.

Luo Xikui got into the car without saying much, and Xiang Hengxi started the car and drove out of the yard.

Seeing Luo Xikui's tense expression, Xiang Hengxi couldn't help but ask, "Did something happen to A-Yu?"

Luo Xikui nodded, pursing her lips: "He didn't tell me that his old injury had relapsed."

"Don't worry, he was just talking to you, so maybe it's not a serious problem," Xiang Hengxi comforted his sister.

"If the problem wasn't serious, he wouldn't have kept it from me!" Luo Xikui looked like she was about to cry.

Xiang Hengxi knew that what she said made sense, so he didn't say anything more and sped up the car.

Upon arriving at the airport, Luo Xikui picked up her ticket, and Xiang Hengxi waited with her for a while before seeing her through customs.

"Take it easy, don't rush, be careful on the road," Xiang Hengxi told her, then patted her shoulder.

Luo Xikui nodded, said goodbye to her brother, and went inside to ascend the throne.

Once on the plane, the in-flight announcement instructed passengers to turn off their phones. Just as she took her phone out, Xu Ziyu called her back. She didn't answer, but hung up and then turned off her phone.

The flight to Germany took a full ten hours, and we arrived in Berlin at 3 a.m. German time.

She called Cheng Ming to ask which hospital she had seen Xu Ziyu at, and after getting the answer, she took a taxi there.

However, since the hospital here does not allow visits at night, she temporarily stayed at a small hotel nearby.

She tossed and turned all night, and as soon as visiting hours were available, she went over immediately.
