Seeing that she had lowered her head, Xu Tingchuan raised his hand to stroke Ni Sitian's hair and said softly, "I always keep my promises. You don't need to feel pressured. Just follow your feelings."
Ni Sitian pressed her forehead against Xu Tingchuan's chest, her emotions waning, and murmured, "Xu Tingchuan, don't be so good to me, I'm so scared..."
"What are you afraid of?" Xu Tingchuan gently patted her back.
"I'm afraid I'll fall in love with you." Ni Sitian bit her lip, her voice timid and slightly nasal as she spoke.
Xu Tingchuan smiled faintly and didn't say anything. He knew that it was a bit difficult for Ni Sitian to talk about love at this stage, so he was prepared to fight a long battle and let her slowly accept it like a gentle spring rain.
"Xu Tingchuan, shall we stay like this forever?" Ni Sitian grabbed the side of his clothes, looked up at him with a pleading expression.
They didn't talk about love, but they leaned on each other and kept each other company. She liked this feeling very much; it was relaxed and without burden.
Xu Tingchuan still didn't answer her directly. He stared into her eyes for a while, then suddenly changed the subject: "Sitian, can you call me by my name from now on?"
Well……
The topic jumped too far, and Ni Sitian was momentarily stunned.
"I am your husband." Xu Tingchuan saw her stunned look, stroked her hair, and said softly, "You and Jiayue have only known each other for less than an hour, and you're already calling her by her name."
"So how would you like me to address you?" Ni Sitian realized what he meant and found it kind of cute that he cared about this, so she couldn't help but smile.
"Call me husband." Xu Tingchuan lowered his head and pecked her lips.
Ni Sitian opened her mouth, but couldn't quite bring herself to say it. She had deliberately shouted it in front of strangers before, but that was for show. Now, asking her to say it made her feel a little nauseous.
"Tingchuan." She compromised and called his name softly.
When Xu Tingchuan heard her voice calling his name, he felt as if a feather had brushed against his heart, making him feel itchy yet very comfortable.
He couldn't resist lowering his head and kissing her again, his tongue deftly prying open her lips and teeth, gently sweeping through her mouth and teasing her clumsy little tongue into a dance with it.
Ni Sitian gripped his clothes tightly, her tongue responding to his every whim.
Only when they were both breathless and their faces were flushed from the kiss did Xu Tingchuan release her, pressing his forehead against hers and coaxing her softly, "Say it again."
Ni Sitian looked at him with her moist eyes and softly called out, "Tingchuan."
Xu Tingchuan kissed her lips again, another long kiss.
After repeating this three or four times, Ni Sitian's tongue became numb, and her lips were red and swollen.
She lightly punched Xu Tingchuan's chest, refusing to let him coax her anymore, and no longer calling his name.
Xu Tingchuan chuckled softly, then held her in his arms, embracing her quietly.
After a long while, he said, "Come with me to the old house tomorrow, Dad is back."
Upon hearing this, Ni Sitian immediately became nervous.
Previously, she didn't have a clear understanding of the fact that Xu Tingchuan's father was a provincial leader, but after the banquet that day, she became more aware of the difference in their social standing.
"Don't be so scared. You've already met my mom and Jiayue. The only difference is my dad." Xu Tingchuan held her hand and squeezed it gently.
"You make it sound so easy," Ni Sitian muttered, pouting.
She had only ever seen her father's position in the news, and she couldn't believe that she had become the daughter-in-law of such an important person. Moreover, his mother didn't seem to like her very much.
Why did she suddenly have a feeling that her future was bleak?
