Chapter 174 Choosing Wedding Rings

Upon reaching the second floor, Xu Tingchuan led her toward the jewelry section.

He had already given her a wedding ring before, but ever since she found out its price, she insisted on keeping it in a safe and refused to wear it. So he had been wanting to buy her a pair of plain rings so she could wear them on a daily basis.

Ni Sitian felt it wasn't really necessary, but since he insisted, she would go along with it.

The two sat at the counter picking out rings. Even though it was just a plain ring that he usually wore, Xu Tingchuan still picked it out very carefully.

In the end, they chose a custom-engraved platinum plain ring and wrote down what they wanted engraved on each other's rings.

Ni Sitian wrote her own name in pinyin, finished quickly, and then peeked at Xu Tingchuan.

Xu Tingchuan covered up the contents of the paper, then folded it and handed it to the sales assistant.

"Why are you being so mysterious? I'll see it when I get the ring in a few days anyway," Ni Sitian muttered unhappily.

Xu Tingchuan smiled faintly and remained silent, leading her out of the jewelry store.

Before Ni Sitian could say anything more, she ran into Qin Mubei and a woman.

The moment Qin Mubei saw Ni Sitian, he subconsciously let go of the woman's hand beside him.

The woman frowned slightly, followed his gaze, saw Xu Tingchuan, and then pulled Qin Mubei over with her.

She glanced at Ni Sitian beside him, then raised an eyebrow at Xu Tingchuan: "Mr. Xu, what a coincidence."

Ni Sitian was somewhat surprised that she knew Xu Tingchuan, and why his tone was a little strange.

Xu Tingchuan did not respond, as if he couldn't remember who the woman was.

"I forgot to introduce you, this is Qin Mubei, my fiancé." The woman raised her chin slightly and said to Xu Tingchuan with a hint of pride.

Xu Tingchuan remained silent, but Ni Sitian seemed a little surprised. The woman Qin Mubei was going to marry appeared to be two or three years older than him, and seemed to have a rather difficult personality.

Qin Mubei looked away from Ni Sitian, feeling that such an encounter was somewhat awkward.

"Mr. Xu, won't you introduce the lady next to you to me?" The woman looked at Ni Sitian with a critical gaze.

Xu Tingchuan finally reacted. He didn't like the way this woman looked at Ni Sitian, so he frowned slightly and asked, "May I ask who you are?"

Upon hearing this, the woman's face flushed red and then turned pale, probably feeling ashamed. She grabbed Qin Mubei's hand and left.

Ni Sitian watched them leave, then looked up at Xu Tingchuan and asked, "You really don't know her?"

Xu Tingchuan shook his head; he really had no recollection of that woman.

"But she seems to know you. Did you offend her and forget about it?" Ni Sitian snorted.

Xu Tingchuan smiled. Her tone sounded like she was a little jealous, and it was clear that she was jealous of him, not Qin Mubei.

"What are you laughing at? You really don't know me?" Ni Sitian narrowed her eyes and asked.

Xu Tingchuan shook his head, suppressing the smile on his lips, but the smile in his eyes lingered.

Although she said she didn't want love, and that she might not be able to give him anything in return.

But she probably didn't even realize that she actually liked him, even if it was only a little bit.

If not, why would we be reacting this way?

Moreover, when she was writing the details for the ring, she wrote that she wanted her name engraved on his ring, which was a way of asserting her ownership; she had a possessiveness towards him that she might not yet be aware of.

Xu Tingchuan felt delighted just thinking about it, and the smile in his eyes deepened.

Seeing how happy he was, Ni Sitian, though she didn't know why, inexplicably felt happy too and started smiling foolishly.

The two looked at each other and laughed, completely unaware that someone on the third floor was watching them, and the veins on the back of the hand gripping the railing were slightly bulging.
