After lunch, Jin Rulan went upstairs.
Xu Haicheng received a business call, so he went upstairs to his study.
Xu Jiayue said she didn't want to be a third wheel and didn't know where she went.
Only Xu Tingchuan and Ni Sitian remained in the large hall. The two looked at each other and suddenly smiled.
Xu Tingchuan extended his hand to Ni Sitian and said with a slight smile, "Would you be so kind as to accompany me for a stroll in the garden?"
Ni Sitian handed her hand to Xu Tingchuan, placed it in his hand, and smiled with raised eyebrows.
Xu Tingchuan led her outside. The weather was lovely today, sunny and not too cool or too hot. A gentle breeze caressed her face, making her feel very comfortable and relaxed.
The Xu family's garden is about the size of ten basketball courts, and the fountain in the middle is particularly beautiful and spectacular when it sprays water.
The garden is planted with many flowers, trees and shrubs. Although it is late autumn, it is still lush and green, which makes people feel happy.
Ni Sitian loves flowers and plants, and even specially decorated a flower garden on her balcony at home.
But compared to what's in front of her, her meticulously arranged flowerbed seemed utterly insignificant.
"If you like, we can grow more of them," Xu Tingchuan said with a smile as he led Ni Sitian on a leisurely stroll to digest their food. Seeing her staring at him so intently, he smiled gently.
"Where to plant them? Even if we opened up the balcony and the house, we still couldn't grow even a tenth of them." Ni Sitian smiled. Although she liked the yard very much, she knew it was impossible. Besides, she couldn't manage it all by herself. She only needed a small flower bed.
Xu Tingchuan, however, began to seriously consider whether he should move to a bigger house.
Ni Sitian stopped under the maple tree, watching the blood-red maple leaves rustling in the wind, and she couldn't help but tilt her head back and take a deep breath.
A maple leaf drifted down and landed on Ni Sitian's hair.
Xu Tingchuan raised his hand to remove the fallen leaves, then smoothed her hair.
Ni Sitian looked away from him and smiled sweetly.
Xu Tingchuan suddenly pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly, very tightly.
Ni Sitian paused for a moment, then smiled faintly, leaned against his chest, and whispered, "What are you doing?"
"I just wanted to hug you." Xu Tingchuan lowered his head, smelling the fragrance of her hair, and hugged her tighter in his arms.
Ni Sitian hesitated for a moment, then raised her hand and wrapped it around Xu Tingchuan's waist.
His embrace was very comfortable, with a clean and refreshing feel that made one feel warm and secure.
"Are you serious about what you said to Mom?" Xu Tingchuan couldn't help but ask.
"Which sentence did you say?" Ni Sitian didn't react.
“Child.” Xu Tingchuan uttered these two words.
He hadn't been particularly eager to have a child at first, but the thought of having a tiny, soft baby, so much like her, suddenly stirred a longing in his heart.
But she was still too young, and he couldn't bear to let her shoulder the responsibility of being a mother so early.
So he's feeling conflicted right now and wants to hear what Ni Sitian has to say.
“We definitely don’t want the baby right now,” Ni Sitian answered without much thought, frankly saying, “I only agreed casually because I was afraid you would argue with Mom. Anyway, it’s our decision whether we have a child or not, so it doesn’t matter if we agree to her first.”
"When do you want it?" Xu Tingchuan gently stroked her long hair.
