Ni Sitian woke up in the middle of the night. In the pitch-black room, she could only see Xu Tingchuan lying next to her by the light of a beam of moonlight.
I was so busy drinking at dinner that I didn't eat much, and now my stomach is growling loudly. I feel so hungry.
She gently removed Xu Tingchuan's arm from her waist, preparing to get out of bed and go to the coffee table to get the remaining pastries.
Before her feet even touched the ground, the lights in the room suddenly came on.
She turned her head to look and saw Xu Tingchuan propping himself up, looking at her and saying, "Why didn't you turn on the light when you went to the bathroom?"
Before Ni Sitian could answer that she wasn't going to the toilet, her stomach betrayed her, growling loudly like a drum.
"Are you hungry?" Xu Tingchuan asked with a smile in his eyes as he regained some of his senses.
Ni Sitian felt very embarrassed and nodded: "I'll go get some pastries, do you want some?"
Xu Tingchuan glanced at the pastries on the table, which had been sitting for a while and were starting to harden. He simply got out of bed and said, "Don't eat those. I'll go downstairs to the kitchen and get you some."
"No, there's no need for that." Ni Sitian quickly grabbed him, afraid that his going downstairs would disturb others.
Tomorrow everyone in this house will know she's a foodie; it was her first time visiting her in-laws' house, and she even got up in the middle of the night to look for food.
"Don't worry, I won't let anyone else find out." Xu Tingchuan smiled, patted her head, and walked outside.
Ni Sitian was far from at ease, so she quickly got out of bed and followed him out.
Once downstairs, they turned on a small light and went into the kitchen.
The Xu family doesn't have the habit of keeping leftovers, so the refrigerator only contains food and nothing else.
After searching for a while, Xu Tingchuan found toast, eggs, and ham.
This was the only one that could be made quickly, so he asked Ni Sitian, "Would you like a sandwich?"
Ni Sitian was already very embarrassed, so of course she wouldn't be picky and quickly nodded.
Xu Tingchuan put the toast into the bread machine, then cracked an egg, preparing to fry it.

Ni Sitian blushed with embarrassment and gave Xu Tingchuan a reproachful look. She had said no, and sure enough, she was found out. It was so embarrassing.
Xu Tingchuan received her gaze, smiled faintly, and said to the housekeeper, "Uncle Wang, I'm hungry. Sitian is making me something to eat. Go to sleep."
Butler Wang originally wanted to suggest that a servant could do it, but seeing how intimate the young couple was, he figured that a servant would only get in the way, so he smiled and let them do it themselves, then turned and went back into the room without disturbing them any further.
Ni Sitian looked at Xu Tingchuan, who was taking the blame for her, and a big, bright smile appeared on her lips.
Xu Tingchuan pinched her cheek and said, "You have to pay it back."
What else?
Ni Sitian blinked, but before she could ask anything, Xu Tingchuan started frying the eggs.
After the sandwiches were made, the two of them ate them standing in the kitchen.
They stood side by side, bathed in the dim, hazy light, creating a sense of gentle warmth.
The feeling of sneaking a bite together was a bit strange, and Ni Sitian couldn't help but smile.
Xu Tingchuan looked down at her and saw that there was ketchup on the corner of her mouth, so he reached out his index finger to wipe it off for her, and then very naturally put it in his mouth and sucked it off.
