Ni Sitian frowned slightly upon hearing her words, still puzzled by her inexplicable hatred.
However, she wanted to return those words to her.
"Speaking of flirting, aren't you more suitable?" Ni Sitian smirked, unable to resist a light mockery.
Ji Xiaoyun bit her lip, walked closer to Ni Sitian, and looked at her with hatred in her eyes.
Ni Sitian noticed that her hand clenched into a fist and then relaxed, and thinking that she was about to attack her, she prepared to defend herself and took a step back.
But to her utter surprise, Ji Xiaoyun raised her hand but didn't slap her. Instead, she suddenly slapped herself hard across the face.
The slap was so loud that Ni Sitian felt pain just hearing it, and Ji Xiaoyun's face instantly became red and swollen.
Ni Sitian was completely bewildered. What was going on here?
Ji Xiaoyun gave Ni Sitian a slight smile, but the next second, tears streamed down her face.
She covered her face and ran outside. Ni Sitian suddenly understood what she wanted to do and followed her out.
Sure enough, someone was drawn to the bathroom door by the loud slap and saw Ji Xiaoyun come out with half of her face red and swollen, so they quickly asked her what happened.
Ji Xiaoyun just shook her head, crying, telling her not to ask.
When the colleague saw Ni Sitian come out of the restroom right after her, he couldn't help but feel indignant on Ji Xiaoyun's behalf: "What did you do to deserve hitting her? This is a workplace. How can you beat your colleague like this? What will people think of our company culture!"
He spoke loudly, which attracted a group of colleagues.
Seeing the horrifying redness and swelling on Ji Xiaoyun's face, they all looked at Ni Sitian with accusatory eyes.
The female colleague who had been talking with Ji Xiaoyun in the restroom earlier spoke up for Ji Xiaoyun: "Ni Sitian, Xiaoyun and I were just talking about you for a bit, did you have to be so cruel and beat her up like this!"
Upon hearing this reason, everyone's gaze towards Ni Sitian became even more hostile. Everyone in this office goesssips, and beating her so harshly felt like slapping them in the face.
"It's not Sitian's fault, it's not Sitian's fault, it's my own fault..." Ji Xiaoyun covered her cheeks, crying with tears streaming down her face, looking pitiful, while still speaking well of Ni Sitian.
Although this statement denied that Ni Sitian was the one who slapped Ji Xiaoyun, others would only think that Ji Xiaoyun was afraid of Ni Sitian, which further fueled everyone's dissatisfaction with Ni Sitian.
“One of those people who came out of the restroom was you, and the other was her. Would you hit yourself? Stop trying to cover for her!” one of the colleagues said.
The crowd echoed and condemned Ni Sitian.
Ni Sitian found it utterly ridiculous to watch Ji Xiaoyun's self-directed and self-acted drama.
Both are 21 years old, but look at her skills and acting ability, she is simply in awe!
"I didn't hit her. She just suddenly slapped herself and then ran out pretending to be pitiful." Ni Sitian didn't care whether others believed her or not; she was going to make things clear.
Ji Xiaoyun seemed very afraid of her, shrugging her shoulders and nodding repeatedly, saying, "It's my fault, everyone please don't misunderstand Sitian..."
People naturally have a tendency to pity the weak. Seeing that Ni Sitian's attitude was tough and Ji Xiaoyun's was gentle and weak, they naturally leaned more towards Ji Xiaoyun.
In an instant, all the blame was directed at Ni Sitian.
When Editor-in-Chief Ma saw the commotion, he came over and felt sorry for Ji Xiaoyun when he saw her swollen face. He sternly scolded Ni Sitian, "How dare you hit someone in the company? Do you want to quit?"
