Xu Tingchuan felt as if he had missed something very important, so he called her name softly again: "Sitian".
When Ni Sitian heard him call her name in a low, deep voice on the phone, she felt that her name sounded particularly soft and sweet.
"Sitian." Xu Tingchuan called out again, her name lingering on his tongue, making him want to call her involuntarily.
"Hmm?" Ni Sitian's ears burned as she listened. She remembered how he would always whisper her name in her ear when they were intimate in bed, trying to make her remember that it was him who was making love to her.
"Sitian." When Xu Tingchuan called her name, he felt a warm feeling flow through his heart, and he was immersed in this soft call.
Ni Sitian blushed as she heard him call her name so many times, and complained shyly, "Why do you keep calling me?"
"I just wanted to call out to you," Xu Tingchuan replied with a silent smile.
Ni Sitian pouted, helpless against his self-righteous answer.
Suddenly remembering something important, he told Xu Tingchuan about Xiang Zhilan and the deal between Shen Muzhi and Xiang Zhilan.
Upon hearing this, Xu Tingchuan frowned. He had tried to persuade Shen Muzhi before, but Shen Muzhi hadn't listened at all.
“I really don’t understand why Shen Muzhi has to choose Zhi Lan when he could have any kind of woman?” Ni Sitian frowned and said with dissatisfaction, “What he’s doing now is taking advantage of someone’s misfortune.”
"Did Xiang Zhilan agree?" Xu Tingchuan knew that Shen Muzhi would act strangely every year around December, and even though they were friends, some of his behaviors were beyond his control.
"She agreed, saying she'd be a male prostitute," Ni Sitian said, both amused and exasperated. She was completely unaware that she was becoming more and more relaxed and like a young couple as she spoke to Xu Tingchuan.
"Sitian, don't get involved in this matter," Xu Tingchuan advised after a moment's hesitation.
Upon hearing this, Ni Sitian frowned: "How can I not care about Zhilan? She is my best friend, and our relationship is even better than that of Sister Tianzhen."
“But she agreed to the deal with Mu Zhi herself.” Xu Tingchuan tried to reason with her, and after considering it carefully, he said, “Mu Zhi actually had no obligation to find that Manager Feng. Even the Qinghong Gang would have difficulty finding someone who had been on the run for so many days. He went to such great lengths to find him, just for Xiang Zhilan.”
"So what? Does that mean he can threaten Zhi Lan?" Ni Sitian said anxiously, "I know he's your friend, and I didn't mean to ruin your relationship. Ni Sitian's phone shut down automatically due to low battery, so she didn't hear the rest of Xu Tingchuan's sentence. However, from what he said earlier, she sensed that Xu Tingchuan didn't want to get involved in this matter.
Shen Muzhi was his friend, and she could rationally understand his actions, but emotionally she couldn't quite accept them.
Perhaps it was because he had always been responsive to her needs and helped her solve all sorts of problems, but this time he hadn't, which made her feel a sense of disappointment.
