Holding the pregnancy test, Ni Sitian felt inexplicably nervous. She swallowed and gripped it tightly with her fingers.
After feeling uneasy for a while, she decided to go to the bathroom to take a test.
About ten minutes after she went in, Ni Sitian came out with her head down, sat back on the sofa, tilted her head back, raised her hand to her forehead, and couldn't help but laugh.
She was definitely overthinking it; how could she possibly get pregnant so quickly?
She felt a bit conflicted. She didn't want to have a child so soon, but the moment she picked up the pregnancy test, she felt a little hopeful.
I was a little disappointed when the test showed only one line.
She couldn't help but raise her hand to touch her flat stomach and let out a soft sigh.
Just then, her phone rang. Ni Sitian answered it without even looking at it, and said "hello" listlessly.
"Sitian".
Qin Mubei's voice came from the other end of the phone. Ni Sitian frowned, glanced at the caller ID, and confirmed that it was an unknown number.
No wonder he could still call her even though she had blocked him.
Ever since that last party where he tried to force a kiss on her, she's been completely disgusted with him and doesn't want to pay him any more attention.
"Don't hang up." As if sensing that she was about to hang up, Qin Mubei immediately said, "I'm calling this time for no other reason than to invite you and Mr. Xu to my engagement party."
Ni Sitian frowned even more deeply and said disdainfully, "Qin Mubei, are you sick in the head? You're so shameless just to collect more money as a gift."
As soon as she finished speaking, she hung up the phone, tossed it aside, and leaned back on the sofa.
Her stomach started to hurt faintly again, and when she pressed the spot, it seemed to be slightly to the right.
Ni Sitian took a light breath, reached out and took the stomach medicine she had bought, and swallowed two pills.
After a while, the pain seemed to subside, so Ni Sitian stopped thinking about it.
I went into my study, turned on my computer, opened a document, and continued writing the story I hadn't finished last time.
For the past few years, she has been writing short stories for magazines. Now that she no longer needs to go to school or has a job, she wants to try writing a novel.
Time flies when you sit down and immerse yourself in the document.
As night fell, the only sound in the small study was the gentle tapping of her keyboard.
Before she knew it, it was eight o'clock. She felt a pain in her shoulders, so she got up to stretch and went to the kitchen to pour herself a glass of milk.
Finding that we were out of food at home, I decided to go out for a walk and buy some food while I was there.
She took her wallet, phone, and keys and went out.
The wind was already a bit chilly on this November evening, and she walked quickly toward the supermarket.
After shopping for about half an hour, I bought some fruits, meats, and vegetables, and came out carrying my rather heavy shopping bags.
As I walked home, I felt another sharp pain in my lower right abdomen.
She frowned and continued walking forward, but this time waves of pain came, growing stronger and stronger until they were hard to ignore.
Ni Sitian stopped, clutching her stomach, and slowly squatted down. She was in so much pain that she gritted her teeth, sweat beaded on her forehead, and her face grew paler and paler.
She took her phone out of her pocket, intending to call for help, but her hands were trembling from the pain, and the phone fell to the ground.
Her vision gradually blurred, her body slumped, and she fainted.
People on the street gathered around in twos and threes, someone dialed the emergency number, and after a while, the ambulance arrived.
