Chapter 27 A Lifetime

Ni Sitian felt particularly uncomfortable, as if she were just a child who could only throw tantrums in front of him.

So she said in a stiff tone, "That guaranteed admission spot was a deal between Ms. Jin Rulan and the department head. Don't tell me you didn't authorize it!"

After she finished speaking, she glared angrily at Xu Tingchuan.

Xu Tingchuan frowned, his face dark, and his voice was low: "I really didn't know. If I had instructed you to do it, why would I have asked you about your internship one day?"

Ni Sitian was stunned for a moment. She was so angry that she had forgotten that Xu Tingchuan had been surprised that she had gotten a spot on Saturday.

"It really wasn't you?" She snapped out of her daze, bit her lip, and her voice weakened.

Xu Tingchuan remained silent, his dark eyes fixed on her.

Ni Sitian lowered her eyes. If it wasn't his idea, then it must have been Jin Rulan's initiative.

Regardless, it was really wrong of her to question him so indiscriminately just now.

She felt guilty and wronged about the matter. She pursed her lips and explained hesitantly, "The spot originally belonged to my roommate, but we had a conflict over it."

Xu Tingchuan's expression softened a bit, but when he thought about his mother's interference in Ni Sitian's affairs, his face turned cold again.

“I don’t think this is very honorable.” Ni Sitian felt uneasy after saying this, and added breathlessly, “I know she might be doing it for my own good, but what will my classmates think of me after this? Don’t you think so?”

Xu Tingchuan stood up and walked to Ni Sitian.

Ni Sitian felt inexplicably nervous as he approached, her eyelashes trembling slightly.

“She was indeed wrong in this matter.” Xu Tingchuan did not intend to defend his mother.

Upon hearing this, Ni Sitian looked at Xu Tingchuan in surprise. Did he admit that it was his mother's fault?

"I promise you this won't happen again." After making his promise, Xu Tingchuan looked down at Ni Sitian, his clear voice slightly deep: "But you were also at fault."

"I was indeed impulsive and reckless, I'm sorry." Ni Sitian admitted her mistake readily and her attitude was good.

"You still haven't realized where you went wrong." Xu Tingchuan put one hand in his pocket, leaned against the table, and said calmly, "Ni Sitian, do you subconsciously want a divorce? Do you regret marrying me?"

Ni Sitian was somewhat taken aback and shook her head repeatedly: "I didn't think that way."

"If you don't think that way, why do you always bring up divorce so easily?" Xu Tingchuan looked directly into Ni Sitian's eyes, his expression slightly cold: "In your opinion, is marriage such a simple and easy thing? You just call for an end at the slightest disagreement?"

“No…” Ni Sitian opened her mouth, but couldn’t explain.

"I don't care what you thought before, from today onwards, you must remember that our marriage is serious, not something you can play house with." Xu Tingchuan looked at her intently and seriously, saying each word clearly: "As long as neither of us makes a fundamental mistake, our marriage is for life. Do you understand?"

The phrase "forever" stunned Ni Sitian, who subconsciously swallowed hard and said, "I understand."

Xu Tingchuan looked at her with deep eyes, somewhat doubting whether his little wife truly understood.

Oh well, I'll teach her slowly. One day, she'll clearly remember that he's her husband and that's etched into her heart.

However, it seems we shouldn't let her off so easily this time.

Xu Tingchuan narrowed his eyes slightly, then reached out and pulled Ni Sitian over...
