After running her fingers through her hair, Ni Sitian dejectedly lowered her hands, leaned back in her chair, closed her eyes, and took a few deep breaths.
Finally, she exhaled a long, hard breath.
After exhaling, she rallied her spirits and focused intently on tackling the document.
It just so happens that the male and female protagonists were separated for many years due to various unforeseen circumstances, but they still missed each other in their hearts.
This plot made her think of Xu Tingchuan and Su Yan again, which was a terrible thing.
She typed a few lines, then her hands paused on the keyboard. What should she do if that really happened?
Should I step aside and let the lovers be together?
But... but what if she can't bear to part with Xu Tingchuan?
He's so good, so very good. Step by step, I've become deeply immersed in his goodness. How can I turn my back on him and ignore him?
Thinking of this, Ni Sitian felt a sharp pain in her heart, as if someone was holding scissors and about to cut her heart open piece by piece.
She suddenly stood up; she refused to sit idly by and wait for her fate!
Xu Tingchuan must know that as his wife, she deserves to stay by his side!
Ni Sitian pursed her lips, stood up and walked out of the small study. She saw Xu Tingchuan making a phone call on the balcony and went over to him.
Xu Tingchuan had just finished his phone call when he turned around and saw Ni Sitian standing behind him. Just as he was about to speak, Ni Sitian suddenly rushed up and hugged him.
She wrapped her arms tightly around his waist, rested her face against his chest, and gently rubbed against him.
Xu Tingchuan thought she was being coquettish, so he raised his hand and placed it on her back, patting it lightly.
"Xu Tingchuan, are you serious about everything you've said to me?" Ni Sitian asked sullenly, her nose a little stuffy.
"Which sentence?" Xu Tingchuan stroked her long, black hair.
“Yes, yes, you said our marriage would last a lifetime or something…” Ni Sitian bit her lip.
“Of course.” Xu Tingchuan replied, finding Ni Sitian’s question strange. He lifted her chin, making her face him, and said seriously, “We are the people who will spend the rest of our lives together.”
Ni Sitian's depressed mood eased a bit, and she looked at Xu Tingchuan and asked, "You wouldn't lie to me, would you?"
Xu Tingchuan sensed that Ni Sitian was probably overthinking something again, so he rubbed her head and replied, "Mmm."
"Okay, I believe you." Ni Sitian buried her head in his chest again and hugged his waist tightly.
Xu Tingchuan was completely baffled, having no idea what she was up to with this nonsensical act.
She remained quietly in his arms for a while without letting go, and he couldn't help but chuckle softly, "Why are you getting more and more affectionate?"
“It’s all because you spoiled her,” Ni Sitian said matter-of-factly.
Xu Tingchuan laughed out loud and hugged her back.
After hugging for an unknown amount of time, Ni Sitian's legs started to ache, so she leaned her entire weight against Xu Tingchuan's chest.
Xu Tingchuan grabbed her waist with both hands, picked her up, and carried her into the house.
Ni Sitian was held softly in his arms, and suddenly whispered, "Xu Tingchuan, please don't let me fall."
This statement has a double meaning: don't hurt her, and don't betray her trust in him.
"Don't worry." Xu Tingchuan held her firmly in his arms.
He walked behind the sofa, put her down, and gently massaged her waist, asking, "Is your back still sore?"
"It's all because of you," Ni Sitian said shyly.
"Will you be able to go out this afternoon?" Xu Tingchuan asked with a smile.
"What? Are you taking me out?" Ni Sitian's eyes lit up with anticipation.
"Hmm." Xu Tingchuan continued to massage her waist. "But since you're tired, then never mind."
"Not tired, not tired at all." Ni Sitian wrapped her arms around Xu Tingchuan's neck, somewhat happy: "Where are you taking me?"
