A dozen minutes later, the car arrived at the electronics store.
Xu Tingchuan wasn't a savvy shopper, so he went straight to a brand's flagship store.
Ni Sitian originally planned to buy a cheaper one first to get through this period, and then buy a better one when the fixed deposit matured.
But Xu Tingchuan didn't give her a chance to hesitate and choose. He pointed to the same model of phone as him and said to the salesperson indifferently, "This one is fine."
Ni Sitian glanced at the price and felt her heart bleed, but she still opened her backpack and took out her wallet.
"Ni Sitian, what are you doing?" Xu Tingchuan glanced at her as she took out her credit card, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"Pay up." Ni Sitian, unaware that she had done anything wrong, prepared to hand her card to the salesperson.
Xu Tingchuan's face darkened slightly. He took her card from her hand, handed his own black card to the salesperson, and then entered the PIN.
Ni Sitian was stunned for a moment, not understanding what Xu Tingchuan meant.
Xu Tingchuan returned with shopping bags, stuffed the items into Ni Sitian's arms, and strode out.
Ni Sitian was completely confused. Was this a sign of anger?
But why?
Confused, she quickly followed.
But this time, Xu Tingchuan didn't wait for her, and she struggled to keep up.
"Xu Tingchuan," she called out, but he seemed not to hear her at all, remaining unchanged.
Having no other choice, Ni Sitian ran up to him, spreading her arms to block his path.
"Why didn't you wait for me?" she puffed out her cheeks and glared at him.
"Who are you to me? Why should I wait for you?" Xu Tingchuan looked down at Ni Sitian.
“I’m your wife! You have to wait for me!” Ni Sitian said matter-of-factly.
"Have you ever considered me your husband?" Xu Tingchuan's voice was calm, but it wasn't hard to hear the displeasure in it.
“Of course there is.” Ni Sitian found his answer inexplicable.
Xu Tingchuan, however, thought she was too dense and ignored her, bypassing her and leaving the electronics store directly.
Ni Sitian felt annoyed and quickly followed.
After getting into the car, neither of them spoke, as if they were sulking.
The atmosphere inside the car was rather somber throughout the journey.
Upon arriving home, Xu Tingchuan changed into slippers, went to the bedroom to get some loungewear, and then went into the bathroom to take a shower.
Seeing that he was refusing to communicate, Ni Sitian thought he was being unreasonable and decided to go into the kitchen to cook noodles for herself instead of cooking for him!
While downstairs, she hesitated for a moment, then remembered breakfast, and shamelessly cooked his portion as well.
Soon, two bowls of egg and shredded pork noodles were ready.
Ni Sitian took her bowl to the dining room and sat down. She listened carefully and heard that the sound of water in the bathroom seemed to have stopped.
She thought to herself, rather pathetically, that the timing was perfect; he was coming out now, and the noodles hadn't mushyed yet.
Upon hearing the bathroom door open, Ni Sitian quickly lowered her head to eat her noodles, trying to hide her discomfort.
Xu Tingchuan dried his hair, walked to the dining room, glanced at Ni Sitian's face, and then picked up his phone to make a takeout call.
Ni Sitian froze as she ate her noodles, wanting to tell him that she had actually cooked his portion.
But then she felt that speaking up would be too spineless. He was clearly being unreasonable and getting angry at her for no reason, so why should she cater to him?
Ni Sitian thought for a moment, then subconsciously straightened her back and made up her mind not to speak first.
However, after two or three minutes, she felt even more uncomfortable and found it difficult to swallow the noodles.
She got up and went into the kitchen, took out the bowl of food she had cooked for Xu Tingchuan, and placed it in front of him.
Xu Tingchuan remained expressionless and gently pushed the bowl of noodles back to him.
