Chapter 384 Difficulty Conceiving

Ni Sitian quickly leaned back, almost falling off the stool.

Jiang Yun reached out and pulled her arm, making sure she was seated properly before letting go, and said apologetically, "Sorry, I couldn't help but say a few words when I saw the painting."

Ni Sitian shook her head repeatedly, feeling a little embarrassed; she had overreacted.

"You look familiar." Jiang Yun narrowed her eyes, then suddenly realized, "You're Wen Nuan's friend, right?"

“Yes.” Ni Sitian nodded, feeling flattered that Jiang Yun still remembered her.

"You're learning to paint from the old man?" Jiang Yun looked at the many sketches in the room, then picked one up and smiled, "Did you draw all of these?"

"Hmm." Ni Sitian felt that Jiang Yun was more approachable than she had imagined, and couldn't help but ask, "And you? Why would a big star like you come to play chess with the teacher?"

Jiang Yun smiled and said, "I'm here on my mother's behalf to deliver something to the old man. My mother is Cheng Yun."

Ni Sitian was stunned for a moment. Cheng Yun was the old man's first closed-door disciple, so she was her senior sister.

"Girl, send that boy out." Old Master Wu's voice came from next door.

Ni Sitian snapped out of her daze, stood up, and politely saw Jiang Yun out.

After dropping him off at the door, Jiang Yun smiled and said, "It's cold outside, so this is enough."

His smile was even more perfect than in a toothpaste commercial; if she hadn't been staring at Xu Tingchuan's handsome face for so long, she probably would have been dizzy with envy.

"Take care then." Ni Sitian returned a polite smile, watched him leave the courtyard, and then turned back into the house.

After leaving the courtyard, Jiang Yun glanced back at the closed door. The warm smile on his face faded, and his eyes flickered with slightly complicated emotions. He took a deep breath, turned around, and got into the car.

Ni Sitian returned to the room, looked at the painting on her easel, and with a sudden thought, she made some corrections based on Jiang Yun's suggestions.

After making the changes, I found that it was indeed much better.

In the afternoon, Xu Tingchuan came to pick her up, and she casually mentioned the coincidence to him.

Xu Tingchuan, driving, frowned slightly. "Will he come often?"

"How could that be? He's a celebrity, he's busy." Ni Sitian smiled, her eyes narrowing. "You're jealous too? If he came often, you wouldn't forbid me from coming, would you?"

"I really need to think about it carefully." Xu Tingchuan nodded quite seriously.

Ni Sitian laughed heartily, and Xu Tingchuan reached out and pinched her cheek, laughing along with her.

After dinner, Xu Tingchuan brought her the dark Chinese medicine juice again.

Xu Tingchuan told her two months ago that this stuff was for treating menstrual cramps, but she hasn't drunk it since because of surgery.

Recently, Xu Tingchuan has been particularly fond of frying it for her to drink after dinner, and he makes it for her every night without fail.

However, it didn't seem to have much effect on her; she still experienced pain during her period.

"Can I not drink it?" Ni Sitian wrinkled her nose, looked at the dark bowl, and pouted as she pleaded with Xu Tingchuan.

"No." Xu Tingchuan took out a candy with his other hand and coaxed gently, "I'll give you this after you finish drinking."

“I’m not a child,” Ni Sitian said with a sullen laugh.

“You’re not a child anymore, you should know that good medicine tastes bitter but is good for the disease.” Xu Tingchuan scooped up a spoonful, blew on it gently, and brought it to her lips.

Helpless, Ni Sitian poured the contents of his spoon back into the bowl, took the bowl, pinched her nose, tilted her head back, and gulped it down.

Xu Tingchuan felt a pang of heartache seeing her drink so painfully, but there was nothing he could do; her constitution needed to be adjusted so she could conceive.

She had said she wanted to have his child, but what if she found out...
