Ni Sitian's first reaction was that he was jealous, but she quickly shook her head inwardly.
There was no love between her and Xu Tingchuan, so why would she be jealous?
At most, it's just his male chauvinism at play; he can't stand his wife getting close to other men.
"Oh, I see." Ni Sitian replied readily after she understood.
Xu Tingchuan didn't say anything more, started the car, and drove out of the school.
Ni Sitian sensed the awkward silence and took the initiative to start a conversation: "Why did you suddenly come to school?"
"We just finished discussing business around here," Xu Tingchuan replied casually.
Ni Sitian still didn't understand. What was the connection between finishing business nearby and coming to find her? Shouldn't he have gone back to the company after finishing business? Did he come to ask her to have lunch together?
About twenty minutes later, Ni Sitian's idea was confirmed.
Xu Tingchuan parked the car at the Haoting Hotel, opened the car door and got out.
Ni Sitian got out of the car, and the two walked into the lobby together and took the sightseeing elevator.
She found it strange; when she and Xiang Zhilan came yesterday, the staff had said that the sightseeing elevator was not open to the public.
"Mr. Xu, the private room is ready for you. This way, please." The pretty waitress greeted them with a smile, her service very friendly.
Ni Sitian experienced the service here yesterday, and although it was indeed very polite and courteous, it wasn't as overly respectful as it is today.
Moreover, the waiter kept his eyes on Xu Tingchuan, and when he spoke, it was as if he didn't even acknowledge her.
This made Ni Sitian a little depressed, and she walked a few steps slower, not very happy.
Xu Tingchuan stopped and turned to look at Ni Sitian, who was lagging behind.
When Ni Sitian saw that he had stopped and was waiting for her, she quickly took two steps forward.
"You can leave now. Call your manager over," Xu Tingchuan said coldly, glancing at the waiter without a trace of emotion.
The waiter bowed slightly, his eyes lingering on the waiter's face for a moment before turning and leaving.
Xu Tingchuan took Ni Sitian's hand and walked into the private room.
"Why did you ask her to call the manager over?" Ni Sitian looked at him in confusion.
“The waiters here need retraining.” Xu Tingchuan pulled out a chair for Ni Sitian.
Ni Sitian thanked her, sat down, and raised an eyebrow knowingly: "Just because she glanced at you a few more times?"
Xu Tingchuan's gaze fell on Ni Sitian's face, but he did not answer.
At this moment, a man in a sharp suit walked in, bowed slightly to Xu Tingchuan, and respectfully asked, "May I ask what your needs are, Mr. Xu?"
"This is Mrs. Xu," Xu Tingchuan said casually to the manager.
"Hello, Mrs. Xu." The manager also gave Ni Sitian a slight bow, speaking politely and courteously.
Ni Sitian wasn't used to it, so she immediately stood up and returned the greeting.
"Go down." Xu Tingchuan didn't say anything more.
The manager reacted quickly, immediately guessing that the waiter might have been disrespectful to Mrs. Xu.
"Mr. Xu, Mrs. Xu, please enjoy your meal." He gave a slight bow and left the private room.
Ni Sitian was completely confused. He called the manager over just to let people know that she was Mrs. Xu?
"This won't happen again." Xu Tingchuan didn't explain further and handed the menu to Ni Sitian.
Ni Sitian then realized that he had noticed the waiter ignoring her, which was why he had specifically called the manager over.
Although it might seem like making a mountain out of a molehill, it warmed her heart and made her feel very comfortable.
She raised her eyebrows and gave Xu Tingchuan a bright smile.
