After returning home, Xu Tingchuan, as usual, warmed up the medicine for Ni Sitian and served it to her.
She brought up the topic while she was drinking.
"You've been drinking this for a while now. Did your period still hurt a few days ago?" Xu Tingchuan asked with gentle concern.
After drinking the medicine, Ni Sitian frowned, and it took her a while to recover before she nodded: "Yes, it still hurts."
Xu Tingchuan frowned slightly with concern. "How about we go see Dr. Chen again tomorrow?"
"No, I hate going to the hospital." Ni Sitian shook her head.
"Don't be stubborn, this is very important." Xu Tingchuan tucked Ni Sitian's hair behind her ear and pinched her earlobe.
"I heard that if you take good care of yourself during your postpartum period, the pain won't be so bad." Ni Sitian raised her arm around Xu Tingchuan's neck, raised her eyebrows and smiled, "Why don't you help me, Mr. Xu?"
The implication in her words was palpable, and Xu Tingchuan's eyes darkened. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer, looking down at her. "Mrs. Xu, can I take this as an invitation for me to devour you?"
Ni Sitian raised an eyebrow and boldly asked, "Then what does Mr. Xu think?"
Xu Tingchuan showed her his answer through his actions.
Half an hour later, the sounds in the bedroom stopped, but the lingering romantic atmosphere remained.
Ni Sitian nestled in Xu Tingchuan's arms and said in a puzzled tone, "We've had sex without contraception so many times, how come I'm still not pregnant?"
Xu Tingchuan's expression froze. He realized that Ni Sitian's desire for a child was growing stronger, so he couldn't help but say, "Actually, you're still quite young. How about we postpone it for two years as originally planned?"
“Uh,” Ni Sitian found it strange, looked up at him, and asked in confusion, “But didn’t you want it before?”
"After careful consideration, it seems too hasty for us to have a child now; we're not prepared for anything." Xu Tingchuan gently patted Ni Sitian's back.
“Even if you get pregnant now, you have the time to prepare for the baby during the ten months of pregnancy, so why is it too rushed?” Ni Sitian smiled.
"But we haven't had much time together as a couple. Didn't we just start talking about dating?"
"You don't even have a child yet, and you're already jealous of the child?" Ni Sitian said, amused.
Xu Tingchuan could only reply, "Yes, I am jealous of the child. Right now, you are only focused on having a child. After the child is born, I guess you will only have the child in your eyes."
"You make it sound like I'm using you as a tool to have children. That's not true at all." Ni Sitian held Xu Tingchuan's hand and said earnestly, "It's because of you that I want to have children."
Seeing how much she longed for the child, Xu Tingchuan felt bad and couldn't bring himself to tell her the truth.
“However, I saw a report that says 26 is the best age for women to have children. You’re only 22, which seems too early.” He came up with another suggestion, hoping that Ni Sitian would be less enthusiastic about having children.
“Mr. Xu, by the time I reach my prime childbearing age, you’ll be past your prime childbearing age!” Ni Sitian couldn’t help but laugh, poking his chest.
Xu Tingchuan's face darkened slightly. The age difference between them was indeed a problem; she could always find a way to hit his sore spot.
"How about we compromise and talk about it again when you're twenty-four?"
Upon hearing this, Ni Sitian frowned and sat up, looking at Xu Tingchuan with suspicion, "You're acting really strange today."
