Chapter 452 Jealousy Sparks Trouble

Ni Sitian happily walked into the small study, carrying more than a dozen sample books.

She first took out two books to keep for herself and put them in her small bookshelf, which contained newspapers and magazines where she had published her short stories over the years. She felt a great sense of accomplishment when she put them all together.

Then she placed the remaining ten books on the small round rug, stacking one half on top of another, thus forming a circle, and placed a small potted flowering cactus in the center of the circle.

After setting them up, she took photos of them with her digital camera, excitedly snapping more than a dozen pictures.

After transferring the photos to my computer, I chose the one I thought had the best angle, carefully crafted a Weibo post about the giveaway, added the pre-sale website link, uploaded the photos, and then nervously posted it after confirming everything was correct.

She used to write short stories for magazines, and she wasn't sure if her readers would like this long story. So after she posted it, she kept checking Weibo to see if anyone would share it. She was going to give away ten copies, and if she didn't get ten shares, she would be in trouble.

While browsing Weibo, she noticed that she had gained a few more followers in the past two days, so she clicked to see if they were zombie accounts, as she has a habit of clearing out zombie accounts.

The top follower only had her and a bunch of accounts that were probably being pushed to them for marketing purposes, and the profile picture was a system avatar. When you clicked into her profile, there wasn't a single Weibo post.

Ni Sitian suspected that this was a zombie account, so she clicked to delete it.

Then I returned to my homepage and saw that my giveaway post already had quite a few comments and shares.

Several editors and expert friends in the industry also helped share it, and I quickly replied to each of them. I was very happy to be busy like this.

In contrast to her jubilant mood, Xu Tingchuan's face was slightly dark during the meeting.

As Director Zhou of the investment department reported on the quarter's performance, he became even more apprehensive when he saw Xu Tingchuan's increasingly dark and gloomy face.

Little did anyone know, Xu Tingchuan was currently scrolling through Weibo on his phone under the table.

He had just followed her, but she immediately unfollowed him. Had he been discovered?

Xu Tingchuan searched again, looking south to north, and saw that she was forwarding a giveaway. It must be that her sample book had arrived and she was currently promoting it.

He frowned slightly. She hadn't told him about this, and what was the title of the book?

Xu Tingchuan kept a straight face, ignoring everything else, and focused on getting the followers back, then rapidly forwarding the posts until the limit was reached.

"Mr. Xu, regarding the acquisition of Dahua, do you think there's anything else..." Director Zhou thought he was dissatisfied with his proposal, and his legs trembled, sweat beading on his forehead.

Xu Tingchuan was looking at the people Ni Sitian was following when he discovered that she was following quite a few male celebrities, including some muscular, fit guys!

He randomly clicked on the link and found that there were even shirtless men showing off their chest muscles, abs, biceps, and other muscle groups, with the edge of their underwear showing!

When I randomly clicked into the comments, I was surprised to find that one of the comments from Sinan Xiangbei had even been liked and made it to the top of the trending list!

The comment consisted of only two words: "Want to be dirty."

Then, another drooling, infatuated expression!

Xu Tingchuan tightened his grip on his phone, his expression growing increasingly somber.

"Mr. Xu, Mr. Xu." Assistant Yu, who was sitting next to him, couldn't help but call out to him in a low voice.

To my surprise, I saw my CEO looking at his phone during a meeting, and with such a serious expression. Could it be that some major project has run into trouble?

Assistant Yu, feeling uneasy, called out to Xu Tingchuan a couple more times.

Xu Tingchuan didn't even look up, and said in a deep voice, "Remake it, and reduce it by another 20% on the existing basis."

As soon as he finished speaking, he got up and walked out of the conference room with a gloomy face, leaving a group of people looking at each other in bewilderment.
