Xu Tingchuan walked over expressionlessly, watching Ni Sitian hum a little tune, take out a wine glass, pour red wine, and say in a clear voice, "You seem to be in a very good mood."
“Yes.” Ni Sitian chuckled and placed a glass of wine next to Xu Tingchuan, her eyes crinkling with laughter. “Let’s have a drink today to celebrate the arrival of my sample book.”
“That’s definitely something to celebrate.” Xu Tingchuan looked at Ni Sitian’s face, his gaze deep as if he wanted to study something on her face.
Ni Sitian, puzzled by the stare, raised her hand to touch her cheek and smiled, "Is there something on my face?"
"It's nothing." Xu Tingchuan withdrew his gaze, raised his wine glass, and narrowed his eyes slightly: "First of all, I wish your new book great success."
Ni Sitian raised her glass and lightly clinked it against his, smiling slightly, "Thank you."
After clinking glasses, they each took a small sip, put the glasses down, and began to eat.
Xu Tingchuan usually peels shrimp for her, but today she did something special by peeling shrimp for him.
"This is my first time making braised shrimp. Why don't you try it and see how it tastes?" Ni Sitian put the shrimp into his bowl.
Xu Tingchuan picked up a shrimp to eat, looking at Ni Sitian's expectant expression of praise, but only nodded slightly and said, "Not bad."
Ni Sitian was inevitably a little disappointed when she heard his evaluation of only two words, and blinked her eyes: "That's all?"
Xu Tingchuan picked up his wine glass, took a sip, and narrowed his dark eyes as he looked at her, his gaze sweeping from her eyebrows down to her chest, as if he were looking at food and wondering where to begin to eat it.
Ni Sitian was probably too excited today, so she was a bit oblivious and didn't understand his gaze.
Seeing that he didn't answer her, she looked away, picked up a braised prawn, ate it and thought it tasted pretty good, feeling great about herself.
After optimistically affirming herself, she peeled another one for Xu Tingchuan and said, "These cost eighty yuan a pound. Just these few cost me fifty-eight yuan, which is seven or eight yuan each. You have to finish them all and don't waste any."
"Mmm." Xu Tingchuan responded, picked up a shrimp and chewed, but his eyes were still glued to Ni Sitian.
Ni Sitian noticed that he seemed to be staring at her particularly intently today, and smiled narcissistically, saying, "Even if you find out your wife is a great beauty, you don't need to stare at her like this, do you?"
Xu Tingchuan picked up his wine glass and lightly clinked it against hers.
Ni Sitian took another sip of wine. Xu Tingchuan, who usually didn't like letting her drink too much, seemed to be intentionally indulging her this time.
But since today was indeed a day to celebrate, she didn't mind and kept drinking one glass after another.
Once the wine in the decanter was gone, she was feeling dizzy and, resting her chin on her hand, grinned foolishly at Xu Tingchuan, repeatedly calling out, "Tingchuan, Tingchuan..."
Xu Tingchuan got up, cleared away the bowls, chopsticks, and wine glasses, and then went to deal with the half-drunk woman.
He put her arm over his shoulder, picked her up, and carried her straight to the bathroom.
A moment later, the sound of water and the slapping of buttocks came from the bathroom.
Then came a loud wail and the sound of splashing in the water.
You could tell that things were getting quite heated inside.
After a while, blush-inducing moans and heavy breathing could be heard from inside.
When Ni Sitian was carried out of the bathroom, her eyes were swollen like two walnuts, looking like she had been punished quite a bit. She nestled in his arms, sobbing, "Bad man, you bullied me again..."
