Just when Ni Sitian thought the car was going to hit her, the front of the car suddenly drifted and bypassed her. She was so frightened that her legs went weak and she fell to the ground.
The truck stopped, and the driver got out. Seeing that Ni Sitian was alright, he immediately started yelling, "You're such a grown woman, can't you read traffic lights?! You're asking for trouble, don't drag others down with you!"
Ni Sitian was still in shock and stunned by the scolding.
Xu Tingchuan was so frightened by what he saw from a distance that his heart stopped, and he ran over as fast as he could.
Ni Sitian only came to her senses when she saw Xu Tingchuan.
Xu Tingchuan breathed a sigh of relief after checking that Ni Sitian was alright, and quickly helped her up from the ground.
Because she had run a red light, the two apologized to the truck driver.
"Take better care of your wife. Is it appropriate to leave her alone on the street in the middle of the night?" The driver scolded Xu Tingchuan a few more times, but overall he meant well.
After the training, the driver got back into the car and drove away.
Xu Tingchuan took Ni Sitian's hand and walked towards the car without saying a word.
Once inside the car, I started the engine and drove off.
Ni Sitian had recovered from the shock and looked at Xu Tingchuan. Seeing his tense face and somewhat frightening appearance, she didn't dare to speak.
Xu Tingchuan didn't say a word the entire way home.
Upon entering the house, Ni Sitian, fearing punishment, hugged Xu Tingchuan's waist in the entryway and hurriedly said, "I was wrong, I shouldn't have run the light."
Xu Tingchuan knew exactly what she was thinking. She had figured out his temper and admitted her mistake first.
"Ni Sitian, let go." He said coldly, his heart hardening.
Hearing his voice, Ni Sitian knew something was wrong, but she refused to let go of his hand and said in a panic, "I was wrong, I was wrong, I will do it again next time."
Seeing that she wouldn't let go, Xu Tingchuan forcibly pulled her arms off his waist.
Ni Sitian was taken aback by his force; she was suddenly pulled away, staggered back two steps, and hit her back on the doorknob, letting out a cry of pain.
Xu Tingchuan didn't turn around, assuming she was playing a little trick to beg for forgiveness, and went straight into the room.
Ni Sitian frowned, rubbing her lower back. Watching Xu Tingchuan leave, she hurriedly followed, saying behind him with a hint of grievance, "I really know I was wrong."
Xu Tingchuan loosened his tie, clenched his fist tightly, turned to look at Ni Sitian, veins throbbing on his forehead, and shouted in fear, "You said you didn't want either of us to leave first, but what did you just do! Do you know how dangerous that was! What if something had happened! Do you know how scared I was!"
Ni Sitian shrank back in fright at his loud reprimand, but she knew he cared about her too much and was too afraid of what had just happened, which was why he was being so fierce with her now.
She quickly hugged his waist, earnestly admitted her mistake, and cried as she reflected on it.
Xu Tingchuan's lingering fear has only gradually subsided now, but that scene still lingers in his mind.
"I saw your car across the street and got so excited that I forgot myself. I really won't do it again next time." At that moment, all she could see was that car, and all she could think about was him, so she didn't notice the traffic light.
Xu Tingchuan took a deep breath to calm himself down. His face was still dark, but he couldn't help but show concern, his tone somewhat stiff: "Did you fall just now?"
Upon hearing this, Ni Sitian knew that this meant he had forgiven her. Not wanting him to worry too much, she quickly shook her head.
