Chapter 48 The Little Temptress

After lying down, Ni Sitian tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep.

After being silently rejected by Xu Tingchuan, she felt suffocated.

Finally, after she had rolled over ten times, I couldn't hold back anymore.

She sat up abruptly, then lunged at Xu Tingchuan, biting his neck just as he had bitten her!

"Ni Sitian, what's wrong with you!" Xu Tingchuan was suddenly attacked and instinctively pushed her away.

Ni Sitian fell backward, her head hitting the bedside table, and she cried out in pain.

Xu Tingchuan quickly turned on the light and examined the back of Ni Sitian's head.

Ni Sitian pushed him away, glaring at him angrily.

"Stop fooling around." Xu Tingchuan leaned over and reached out to touch her head.

"Who's making a scene!" Ni Sitian slapped his hand away unappreciatively, puffing out her cheeks in anger: "It's clearly you who's being sarcastic."

Xu Tingchuan pursed his lips. He was indeed acting strangely today. Ever since he saw Ni Sitian being intimate with that man in the afternoon, he had felt uneasy. He needed to calm down.

He closed his eyes, exhaled, and looked at Ni Sitian again, his voice becoming low and gentle: "It was my fault. Let me see your head."

Ni Sitian has always been the type of person who can't stand it when others treat her gently, especially when that person is the big devil Xu Tingchuan, which makes her feel somewhat pleased.

She hesitated for a moment, then lowered her head and moved it toward Xu Tingchuan.

Xu Tingchuan smiled silently. Ni Sitian really did look like a little animal seeking petting.

He raised his hand and touched the top of her head to make sure it wasn't swollen, then slowly breathed a sigh of relief.

“Xu Tingchuan, do you remember what we said at noon today about getting to know each other?” Ni Sitian pulled his hand down, looked up at him seriously, and asked, “Can you tell me why you’re unhappy? Is it because you’re having trouble at work?”

She remembered that when she went in to deliver milk, he slammed the laptop shut, which led her to guess.

Xu Tingchuan looked at her with deep eyes. Seeing her concerned expression, the gloom in his heart dissipated a little, and he gave her a vague reply.

Ni Sitian didn't understand his work or how to comfort him, so she leaned over and hugged Xu Tingchuan in her arms, just like her mother used to comfort her when she was a child, and gently patted his back.

Xu Tingchuan could sense that Ni Sitian was trying to comfort him, and he smiled helplessly.

However, this childish comfort did make him feel much better, and he reached out and hugged her back.

They embraced quietly for a while, and Xu Tingchuan heard Ni Sitian's breathing gradually become calm, so she must have fallen asleep.

He gently helped her lie down on the pillow and tried to pry her hands off, but she held him tightly.

"You little devil." He smiled slightly and tapped the tip of her nose.

As if sensing something, Ni Sitian pouted and rubbed her cheek against Xu Tingchuan's chest.

Looking at her peaceful sleeping face, he seriously considered why he hadn't gone any further after witnessing what he saw that afternoon.

Logically, he should have had the right to arrest Ni Sitian and separate her from that man.

However, he dared not go forward then, as if he was afraid of finding out something.

Their marriage lacked any element of love. When did his possessiveness towards Ni Sitian become so intense?

Xu Tingchuan closed his eyes and thought for a moment, probably after he discovered that she was kind of cute.

It was so cute that he wanted to keep it safe and not let anyone else find out.

Sure enough, the longer he spent with Ni Sitian, the more naive his thoughts became.

It seems that childishness is contagious.

Xu Tingchuan smiled slightly and gradually drifted off to sleep.
