When Ni Sitian got home, it was already past nine o'clock. To her surprise, she saw Xu Tingchuan still sitting in the house as soon as she entered.
She then remembered that she had said she would bring him breakfast when she left home that morning.
"Have you eaten yet?" Ni Sitian asked a little shyly.
Xu Tingchuan glanced at her, but didn't answer. Instead, he asked, "Why didn't you answer the phone?"
“Uh,” Ni Sitian remembered that she did receive a missed call at the hospital, but she was busy settling Ni Tianzhen and forgot to call back. She apologized and explained, “Something came up.”
"Is it about your sister?" Xu Tingchuan raised an eyebrow.
"How did you know?" Ni Sitian approached him, remembering that she had asked him to investigate Zhang Yijia before, and asked, "You found out a long time ago, why didn't you tell me first?"
"What good would it do to tell you?" Xu Tingchuan said indifferently, turning a page of the newspaper in his hand.
Ni Sitian felt that his attitude was almost cold. She had been holding back her anger because of Li Shaoan this morning, so she vented it: "Do you men all think that this kind of thing is no big deal? You keep the red flag at home and have colorful flags flying outside."
Xu Tingchuan closed the newspaper and quietly looked at Ni Sitian.
Ni Sitian realized that her anger was unreasonable. She took a deep breath and slowly exhaled, "I'm sorry, I didn't control my emotions."
“I don’t think this is a common problem among men.” Xu Tingchuan stood up, looked down at Ni Sitian, and said seriously, “At least I wouldn’t do that.”
Ni Sitian was stunned. Was he making a promise to her?
However, even though Li Shaoan and Ni Tianzhen's marriage was a union of love, they could not escape betrayal.
There was no emotional foundation between her and Xu Tingchuan, so how could they trust each other?
She felt a little frustrated at the thought, looked at Xu Tingchuan, and said in a low, hoarse voice, "If one day you find someone you like, you can tell me in advance."

"What do you mean?" She didn't understand, but she sensed that he seemed angry.
Xu Tingchuan suppressed his anger, offered no further explanation, and walked past Ni Sitian to the entrance to change his shoes.
Ni Sitian stared blankly at his back, then suddenly realized that he hadn't gone to work so late because she hadn't answered his phone, so he was worried about her and stayed home to wait for her to come back.
Her words just now showed a lack of trust in him, which seemed to hurt him as well.
"Xu Tingchuan." She called out to him, turned around and ran quickly toward him. She wanted to apologize but didn't know how to express it, so she simply buried her face in his arms and hugged his waist.
She felt Xu Tingchuan raise his hand to push her away, and blurted out anxiously, "I want to spend my whole life with you."
Xu Tingchuan looked down at the whorl of her hair, and his hand, which was originally about to push her away, fell to the ground.
Ni Sitian hugged him quietly for a while, then realized that what she had said sounded too much like a confession. Feeling a little embarrassed, she let go of his arms, lowered her head, and whispered, "Drive carefully."
Seeing that her ears were red, Xu Tingchuan chuckled silently, pinched her cheek, and turned to leave.
Walking into the garage, I saw the repaired black Maybach parked there, and then I looked at the Land Rover next to it.
He hesitated for a moment, then got into the driver's seat of the Land Rover, glanced at the Maybach with a deep look in his eyes, and started the car.
Lately, he's been thinking about how to get Ni Sitian into a marital mindset. Actually, he should also get into that mindset himself and make some changes that she'd like.
Since you've chosen this marriage, you should be willing to make sacrifices for it.
