Xu Tingchuan and Pei Yang both froze and looked at Ni Sitian.
Ni Sitian came out, blinking in confusion; she had only heard the last sentence.
Upon seeing that both of them looked rather somber, he couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong? Why are you being so secretive?"
Pei Yang felt it was better to let Xu Tingchuan decide this matter himself, so he said good morning to Ni Sitian and turned to leave.
Xu Tingchuan closed the door, turned to look at Ni Sitian, and found it difficult to speak.
"Hmm?" Ni Sitian became even more curious when he didn't speak.
“Pei Yang said the ship has started to return.” Xu Tingchuan really didn’t know how to tell Ni Sitian. After thinking about it, he decided to let Xiang Zhilan decide whether or not to tell Ni Sitian. So he said, “Xiang Zhilan seems to be really seasick. Pei Yang said he saw her vomit yesterday. I don’t know if she’s feeling better today. He brought the ship’s doctor to take a look at her, but the doorbell hasn’t been answered yet.”
Upon hearing this, Ni Sitian immediately became worried. She knew Xiang Zhilan's seasickness best. Could she have fainted in her room because she was feeling unwell?
Thinking about this, Ni Sitian became anxious. As she walked towards the bedroom, she said to Xu Tingchuan, "I'll change my clothes and go check on Zhilan."
Xu Tingchuan watched her hurried figure leave after changing her clothes, his brows furrowing slightly. He wondered if Xiang Zhilan would mention this to Ni Sitian.
He should go to Shen Muzhi's room first to see how badly he was injured.
Ni Sitian walked to Xiang Zhilan's room, rang the doorbell, and when no one responded, she knocked on the door and called out, "Zhilan, Zhilan, are you alright?"
After calling out many times, the door still didn't open. Ni Sitian was getting anxious, afraid that Xiang Zhilan had really fainted inside. She quickly took out her phone to call Pei Yang and ask him to send someone to bring a universal card to open the door.
Just as Ni Sitian dialed the phone, the door opened. She looked up and saw that Xiang Zhilan's cheeks were unusually red. She reached out her hand worriedly, "Why are you so hot? You have a fever. I'll call a doctor."
Xiang Zhilan pulled Ni Sitian into the room, her voice hoarse as if she had been burned: "I'm fine, no need to call a doctor."
Upon hearing her voice, Ni Sitian realized she was perfectly fine. "That won't do. Your voice is like that."
"I told you there's no need to call a doctor!" Xiang Zhilan's nerves had been on edge the whole time, and her emotions were running high, on the verge of collapse.
Startled by her outburst, Ni Sitian cautiously asked, "Zhi Lan, what's wrong with you?"
Xiang Zhilan realized she shouldn't have yelled at Ni Sitian. Her eyes reddened, and she hugged Ni Sitian, burying her head in Ni Sitian's shoulder and neck, choking out in a hoarse voice, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry."
Ni Sitian raised her hand and gently patted Xiang Zhilan's back, "It's okay, I don't blame you."
She felt Xiang Zhilan's tears trickling down her neck, and she was extremely worried. "What happened?"
Xiang Zhilan bit her lip, desperately trying to stop her tears. She lifted her head from Ni Sitian's neck, opened her mouth, her lips trembling slightly. Should she tell Sitian? How could she possibly explain such humiliation?
Given Si Tian's personality, she's bound to act impulsively. That beast is Xu Tingchuan's best friend. After she tells him, how will Ni Si Tian handle the situation? It might cause conflict between the couple.
This was a situation she didn't want to see; she didn't want to drag Ni Sitian into it and make things worse.
