Chapter 556 Zhi Lan Leaves Home

Xiang Zhilan walked over to Ni Sitian's table and sat down. When the waiter came over, Ni Sitian immediately ordered: "One cappuccino and one black coffee."

"Wait, please change the black coffee to hot milk," Xiang Zhilan said to the waiter.

The waiter nodded and turned to go to the bar.

Ni Sitian looked at her with a puzzled expression, "Don't you love this place's black coffee the most? And don't you hate the taste of milk?"

"I haven't been feeling well lately, so drinking milk is better for me," Xiang Zhilan explained casually.

Ni Sitian looked at her with concern and asked if her cold was better. She couldn't help but complain softly, "Look how thin you've become lately. You're not feeling well, and you still have to go to Syria. How can anyone feel at ease?"

The waiter brought over coffee and milk. Xiang Zhilan held the glass of milk, feeling the warmth slowly spreading from her palm. She lowered her head and took a sip, feeling a warm sensation spreading through her stomach.

"Sitian, don't worry." Xiang Zhilan looked up at Ni Sitian and smiled slightly: "I'm not going to Syria."

Ni Sitian was stunned with surprise. After a couple of seconds, she grasped Xiang Zhilan's hand and her eyes widened with joy: "Really?"

"Yes, really, so you don't need to worry." After figuring things out, Xiang Zhilan returned to her usual confident and radiant self.

Ni Sitian was overjoyed, but also curious about how Zhi Lan had come to her senses. "Could it be that Feng Jingxian changed your mind?"

“How could that be? I don’t want to mention that person anymore.” Xiang Zhilan’s eyes flashed with disgust as he spoke, then he explained to Ni Sitian, “I just felt that I couldn’t let my parents worry.”

“Yes, that’s the right way to think.” Ni Sitian readily accepted this reason. For her, no matter what, as long as Zhi Lan didn’t go to Syria, that was fine.

"However, I will be going on a business trip in a couple of days, and it may be for a relatively long time."

Upon hearing this, Ni Sitian frowned with worry, "Where are we going this time?"

"Don't worry, I'm staying in China, not in a dangerous place." Xiang Zhilan wanted to disappear from everyone's sight for a while, so she had to come up with a good reason.

"That's good." Ni Sitian was relieved, picked up the cup handle, and took a sip of coffee.

"Regarding my decision not to go to Syria tomorrow, could you keep it a secret from Xu Tingchuan for now?" Xiang Zhilan didn't want Shen Muzhi to know that she wasn't going, so she didn't even cancel her plane ticket, letting him misunderstand that she had gone.

Given the relationship between Shen Muzhi and Xu Tingchuan, Xu Tingchuan should not be informed of this matter. The reason she told Ni Sitian was that she did not want her to worry too much about her.

"Why is that?" Ni Sitian asked, puzzled.

"I have my reasons." Xiang Zhilan hadn't figured out how to tell Ni Sitian about the child yet, so she had to keep it a secret for the time being.

When Ni Sitian heard Xiang Zhilan say that, she didn't ask any more questions. She believed that Xiang Zhilan could handle her own affairs well, as she had always been much smarter and more mature than her.

After chatting for an hour in the coffee shop, Xiang Zhilan drove Ni Sitian home, and then drove towards her own home.

Back home, I started packing my luggage. As my mother walked in, she saw me and exclaimed, "You're going on a business trip so soon?"

"Yes, I'm leaving soon." Xiang Zhilan had already packed most of her clothes, so she added a few more items and then closed her suitcase.

Because she had informed her family beforehand that she was going on a business trip, Xiang's mother didn't think much of it. She told Xiang Zhilan to be careful while she was away and then saw her off.
