Shen Mu started the car and arrived at Xiang's house in about forty minutes.
The house had been uninhabited for half a month. Xiang Zhilan originally thought it would be covered in dust, but when she went in, it was clean and very tidy.
Xiang's parents didn't know that Xiang Zhilan wasn't living at home, so they didn't find it strange. After changing into slippers and going inside, they even invited Shen Muzhi to sit in the living room.
Xiang's mother went into the kitchen to make him tea, while Xiang's father chatted with him.

Xiang Zhilan knew that her mother had found an excuse to ask her a question alone, so she had no choice but to rehearse her words in her mind before following her into the kitchen.
While Xiang's mother was washing rice, she asked Xiang Zhilan, who was peeling potatoes, "Don't try to fool me. Just half a month ago you were saying there was no possibility between you two. How come you've suddenly become dating with marriage in mind? Even if you're serious, it's only been half a month, and you've already brought him to meet us? "Just because he was willing to go to Syria for you, you must never let him down in the future." Although Xiang's mother felt that Xiang Zhilan's boyfriend came a bit abruptly, she accepted him relatively well, mainly because she was moved by Xiang Zhilan's words.
"Mom, why are you siding with him now?" Xiang Zhilan pouted, somewhat regretting that she had portrayed Shen Muzhi as too good.
However, the trip to Syria was true, and it had genuinely shocked her at the time. A large part of the reason she agreed to let Shen Muzhi stay yesterday was because of this. Although he had made a mistake, he was quite responsible, and she believed that he would truly treat her and the child well in the future.
After preparing the meal, Xiang Zhilan brought the dishes out and called to the two people in the living room, "Go wash your hands and eat."

Shen Muzhi thanked him and first scooped up some soup and took a sip.
