Xiang Zhilan did not expect to stay at home for a week, and there was absolutely no movement from Shen Muzhi's place.
She was starting to suspect that he wasn't planning to take her back. Could it be that he had suddenly realized he didn't want the child anymore?
"Ugh..." Xiang Zhilan covered her mouth and rushed to the bathroom to vomit.
Just then, Xiang's parents returned from their morning exercise. Hearing the noise, Xiang's mother went to the bathroom and knocked on the door. "Lanlan, are you alright?"
When Xiang Zhilan heard that they had returned, she was startled and vomited several times before she could stop. She scooped up some water to rinse her mouth, opened the bathroom door, and shook her head at her mother: "It's nothing, I just ate too much and felt a little full."
"You seem to have some stomach problems lately, you should go to the hospital to get it checked out," Xiang's mother said worriedly.
"Okay, I'll go buy some stomach medicine later," Xiang Zhilan replied casually. Thinking that staying at home like this wouldn't work, her pregnancy symptoms would get worse and worse and her mother would find out, she said, "Mom, I received a last-minute notice from the editor-in-chief that I have to go on a business trip today."
"Another business trip?" Xiang's mother didn't know that Xiang Zhilan had resigned. Her job was inherently unstable, with frequent rest and business trips, so she didn't suspect anything when Xiang's mother told her that she was staying at home this week.
"Okay, I'll pack up and leave in a bit." Xiang Zhilan said as she returned to her room. She still felt nauseous and covered her mouth, dry heaving as she tried not to make a sound.
After a while, feeling a bit better, I started packing my bag.
Shen Muzhi moved almost all of her belongings to his house. She didn't have many clothes in her closet, so she quickly packed up and left with her bag.
"How many days are you going this time?" Xiang's mother asked as she saw her off.
"I'm not sure, I'll call you later." Xiang Zhilan waved and strode into the elevator.
After getting into the elevator, she breathed a sigh of relief, and then began to worry about where she should go.
Shen Muzhi didn't come to pick her up, or even make a single phone call. She wasn't going to go back on her own; who knew if he really regretted it and wanted to pretend it never happened?
After leaving the residential area, she hailed a taxi and asked the driver to take her to Xintian Road.
Fortunately, she has her own small house, so she has a place to stay; otherwise, she really would have had to stay in a hotel.
Upon entering the new house, Xiang Zhilan tossed her bag onto the sofa, then collapsed onto it, exhausted, and closed her eyes briefly.
She recalled the day she saw Shen Muzhi off, when he said he couldn't sleep without her, and now a week had passed without him coming to see her.
“Men are more fickle than women.” Xiang Zhilan hugged the rabbit plush toy, pulled its ears as if she were pulling Shen Muzhi’s ears.
She rested on the sofa for a while, and before she knew it, it was noon. Her stomach was growling with hunger. There were no ingredients available, and she didn't want to go out, so she called to order takeout.
At this moment, Shen Muzhi entered the Xiang family home carrying a gift box.
Xiang's parents invited him in to sit down, and Shen Muzhi handed over the gift box: "I was in a hurry last time, I'm really sorry. I didn't know what you and Auntie liked, so I brought some Junshan Silver Needle tea. Please accept it."
When Xiang's father took the gift box, he was shocked to see the Junshan Silver Needle tea in the two glass jars.
Junshan Yinzhen is a type of yellow tea, but what you usually buy on the market is processed like green tea and isn't very expensive. The one Shen Muzhi sent over is genuine Junshan Yinzhen, which costs at least two thousand yuan per kilogram. Moreover, its quality looks like it's worth far more than that; it looks like a top-grade tea worth tens of thousands of yuan.
