"Then I'll keep working hard. You can go out now." Ni Sitian smiled and pushed Xu Tingchuan out of the small study.
Xu Tingchuan shook his head with a helpless smile. He used to be so busy with work that he didn't have time for her, but now it was the other way around. He was genuinely worried that if she became a famous screenwriter one day, she wouldn't have time for him anymore.
He turned and walked to the kitchen, poured himself a glass of water, and drank it, a faint smile on his lips.
At that moment, Pei Yang called. Xu Tingchuan answered and asked directly, "Did you take care of that matter from last time?"
"It's all about timing. Women don't have their periods every day. Besides, wasn't Ni Ziqi put in detention by Si Tian last week?" Pei Yang said, eating an apple and crossing his legs.
"Then why did you call?" Xu Tingchuan continued drinking water.
"I've come to let you know that tonight's business is settled." Pei Yang chewed on an apple and clicked his tongue, "This is the first time I've done something so ungentlemanly. What exactly did Ni Ziqi do to Si Tian to make her want to use such a mean trick to control her?"
"This wasn't my idea; I was just giving her a taste of her own medicine," Xu Tingchuan said calmly. "She's already very lucky. It's not winter yet; she could have stayed in the reservoir overnight and it wouldn't have made much of a difference."
Ni Sitian was so young at the time, but she was pushed into an icy river in the dead of winter, which caused her to develop health problems and make it difficult for her to have children.
"She deserves it. I'll have someone add some ice for her." Pei Yang hadn't expected that this woman, nominally Ni Sitian's sister, would be so vicious.
"You handle it." Xu Tingchuan didn't care what Ni Ziqi's fate would be, as long as no one died.
After hanging up the phone with Pei Yang, he went into his study, took out a stack of blueprints to check and confirm. These were his wedding surprise and birthday gift for Ni Sitian, which he had been preparing for half a year and was now complete.
She'd probably love it if she saw it, right?
Xu Tingchuan smiled, flipped through the drawings and put them aside, then turned on his computer to work.
The days passed smoothly, and the wedding drew ever closer.
Ni Sitian's situation is going smoothly, but Xiang Zhilan shows no signs of getting married.
When they finally went to check the wedding venue, Xiang Zhilan didn't go.
Ni Sitian was worried about her, so she took some time to visit Tongxin Welfare Home.
Seeing Xiang Zhilan happily playing hide-and-seek with the children, completely carefree, as if the upcoming wedding didn't exist.
"Zhi Lan, are you really sure? What about Xiang's parents?" Ni Sitian really didn't want to persuade her, but she was also worried. Running away from an arranged marriage is not such an easy thing.
"Things will work themselves out," Xiang Zhilan said optimistically. "At worst, I'll just change the groom and continue the wedding."

Knowing that she didn't want to talk anymore, Ni Sitian didn't force her. She played with the children with her until the afternoon before leaving Tongxin Welfare Home.
