Chapter 730 You Bastard

Ah Feng walked up to Shen Muzhi, handed him the documents, and said, "The guest list for the wedding banquet has been checked. We found that this woman came with Su Chengwen's invitation."

Shen Muzhi frowned slightly. Su Chengwen was Su Yan's father and an old friend of their family, so even though she knew Su Chengwen might not come back, she still sent an invitation.

Last night, he was so shocked to see a face that looked exactly like Su Yan's that he didn't react in time and instinctively saved the woman. But later, on the way to the hospital with Xiang Zhilan, he slowly regained his composure and began to think.

The woman had almost the same face as Su Yan, but their figures were not similar; she was much smaller than Su Yan.

He initially thought it was a coincidence of similar appearances, or a deliberate attempt to get close, so he sent someone to investigate.

Unexpectedly, she was actually related to Su Chengwen, but he didn't remember that Su Yan had a twin sister.

"Did the investigation uncover anything else?" Shen Muzhi pulled out a few photos from the bag, but there wasn't any particularly useful information.

The woman went shopping, ate out, and bought things normally, without having any contact with Su Chengwen.

“The servants in the Su family are very tight-lipped and haven’t revealed anything.” Ah Feng paused, then reported, “But it seems that something big happened in the Su family recently, and Su Chengwen was so angry that he was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.”

"What is it?" Shen Muzhi put down the stack of photos and looked up to ask.

Ah Feng lowered his head and said apologetically, "It will take another two days."

Shen Muzhi waved his hand, gesturing for him to leave.

After Ah Feng left, Shen Muzhi picked up the photo again. The woman in the photo was exactly like Su Yan in every way. How could there be two people in the world who looked so alike? He remembered that Su Yan had a half-sister who looked at most three-tenths like her, and was not as similar as Xiang Zhilan.

Thinking of Xiang Zhilan, Shen Muzhi put the photo down again, rubbed his temples in annoyance, and got up to leave the study.

Reaching Xiang Zhilan's door, he glanced at his subordinate and asked, "How is Madam here?"

"The wife hasn't made a sound since this morning," the subordinate replied.

Shen Muzhi recalled what Afang had told him: Xiang Zhilan had been lying in bed, sleeping almost without moving.

He finally couldn't resist having the door opened and went inside.

The room was pitch black; clearly, she hadn't turned on the lights at all that night. The curtains were fluttering, and the evening breeze was blowing in through the cracks in the open window.

Shen Muzhi frowned, strode over and closed the window, then turned on a small lamp.

He looked at Xiang Zhilan, who was curled up in a small ball under the covers.

Despite her tall and slender figure, she appeared extremely thin and small, with a frail and pitiful look.

He approached her, but she remained unmoved.

He sat down next to her and said in a low, confident voice, "You're not asleep, are you?"

Xiang Zhilan didn't open her eyes. She had slept for a day and a night, so of course she couldn't sleep now, but she didn't feel the need to pay attention to him.

"Are you just going to keep dragging this on with me? Your parents are waiting for you to come back to your parents' home the day after tomorrow." Shen Muzhi didn't know how to persuade her to stop torturing her health, so he could only say, "Do you want them to worry? Or do you not want to come back to your parents' home?"

"Shen Muzhi, you bastard!" Xiang Zhilan pulled out a pillow and threw it at him. She sat up abruptly, her chest heaving with anger, glaring at him resentfully.

He always threatens her with her parents; he's the worst scumbag in the world!
