Chapter 75 Self-Confession

Seeing Xu Tingchuan's sullen face, Ni Sitian felt a little scared.

"I shouldn't have ruined the dinner." She pursed her lips, carefully observing Xu Tingchuan's expression.

His face darkened further, giving the impression that a storm was brewing.

Her heart skipped a beat, wondering if she was being asked to confess about Qin Mubei.

“Um…” She gripped the blanket tightly, staring at his face, and slowly said, “He is a senior of mine. We just happened to run into each other in the hallway.”

Xu Tingchuan remained silent, staring directly into her eyes.

Ni Sitian felt that she couldn't get past this hurdle without making things clear, so she bit her lip, took a deep breath, and said, "Okay, I'll confess, he's my ex-boyfriend."

Xu Tingchuan remained silent, his face growing increasingly grim.

Ni Sitian had used up all her courage. She lowered her head, not daring to look him in the eye, and whispered, "He is still my first love. Something happened three years ago, and we broke up. He went abroad, and we haven't been in contact since."

After she finished speaking, she still received no response. Ni Sitian looked up at him quietly, swallowed, and continued, "We bumped into each other at school a few days ago. This is the second time we've met."

Seeing Xu Tingchuan's face darken further, she quickly added, "It really was just a coincidence. I haven't had any other feelings for him for a long time. He won't affect our marriage."

After she finished speaking, the room fell silent.

She frowned slightly, thinking that he probably wouldn't want to know the reason for her breakup with Qin Mubei.

Such embarrassing memories, such unspeakable words.

She never intended to tell anyone in her life; this would undoubtedly be reopening her wounds.

"What else do you want to know? Can you just tell me?" She gave up trying to guess Xu Tingchuan's thoughts and asked directly.

"Why didn't you say so before you left?" Xu Tingchuan's voice was colder than usual.

Ni Sitian was stunned for a moment. Before setting off, she had no idea that she would run into Qin Mubei.

She looked at him with a puzzled expression. Did he want her to recount her romantic history?

Although the request was a bit excessive, she frowned slightly and honestly confessed, "I've only ever had this one boyfriend."

"I was referring to your menstrual cramps." Xu Tingchuan's face darkened again.

Ni Sitian was clearly taken aback, not expecting that Xu Tingchuan's cold and angry face was because of this?

Then weren't all those words she just said an admission of guilt?

She bit her lip in annoyance, paused for a moment, and then lowered her head to explain, "I just didn't want to be rude and break my promise to your friends on our first meeting."

Xu Tingchuan looked at the whorl of hair on her head, and when he heard her explanation, his dark eyes flickered slightly.

Ni Sitian waited for a while, but didn't hear his response, so she couldn't help but quietly raise her head.

Suddenly, a large hand grabbed the back of her head, and she was quickly pulled into Xu Tingchuan's embrace.

Her cheek was pressed against Xu Tingchuan's chest, and she could clearly feel the beating of his heart inside his chest.

"Don't do that again next time." Xu Tingchuan hugged her tightly and said in a low voice, "I'll worry."

These words left Ni Sitian stunned for a while. It turned out that he was so angry because he was worried about her health.

Her nose tingled slightly; it had been a long time since anyone had said those words to her.

"Don't push yourself if you're not feeling well in the future." Xu Tingchuan's voice was still somewhat cold and hard.

But this anger didn't frighten her; instead, she felt a sense of warmth and that he valued her.

“You don’t need to hide your pain, sadness, sorrow, or joy from me.” Xu Tingchuan gently stroked her hair, his voice softening. “Because we are husband and wife.”

Ni Sitian's heart trembled slightly. These words were very ordinary, but at this moment she seemed to be able to feel the extraordinary behind the ordinary.
