Chapter 750 Outwardly Compliant, Inwardly Defiant

Shen Muzhi calmly looked for slippers to change into in the entryway, but found that there were only two pairs of women's slippers.

He took off his shoes and went straight inside, saying, "You should buy another pair of men's slippers."

Xiang Zhilan was infuriated by his self-righteous attitude as the male head of the household. She frowned and said, "If I remember correctly, you already agreed to the separation in front of your mother. What are you doing now?"

"We're separated. I'm not living here with you. I live across the street." After walking in, Shen Muzhi smelled cooking oil and went into the kitchen. Seeing the half-cooked dishes, she asked, "Is this dinner?"

"This is none of your business." Xiang Zhilan glared at him, biting her lip. "You're just paying lip service."

"You don't understand the concept of separation. Living apart from each other is called separation." Shen Muzhi turned on the gas, turned on the range hood, and began to stir-fry somewhat clumsily.

He had never cooked before and was a complete novice in this field. While he wasn't so ignorant as to not know how to add oil and salt, he genuinely didn't know the correct amounts.

"I don't need you to come... Ugh..." Xiang Zhilan covered her mouth, hurried to the trash can, and bent over to dry heave.

Seeing that she felt nauseous from the smell of cooking fumes, Shen Muzhi closed the kitchen door and cooked the dishes by himself.

He stir-fried garlic sprouts with pork and cucumber with eggs. Although they didn't look like what he usually ate, they were cooked through, so he served them.

After vomiting and rinsing her mouth, Xiang Zhilan came out of the bathroom and saw Shen Muzhi sitting at the dining table like the master of the house.

"Get out of here!" She walked over and pointed angrily at the door.

"Is this how you treat a guest, like discarding a donkey after it has served its purpose?" Shen Muzhi filled two bowls with rice, handed one to her, and said, "Eat up, you'll have the energy to be angry when you're full."

"Shen Muzhi, how come I never noticed you were so shameless before? Do you want me to chase you away with a broom?" Xiang Zhilan didn't want his interference to disrupt their first day of officially living apart.

"I'll leave after I finish eating. You don't want to disturb the other neighbors, do you?" Shen Muzhi raised his eyes and asked.

This rhetorical question was clearly a blatant threat, implying that if she really kicked him out, he would make a big fuss.

"You're shameless." Xiang Zhilan sat down angrily and picked up her chopsticks to poke at her rice.

Shen Muzhi picked up a piece of meat for her.

She picked up the piece of meat, treating it as if it were a piece of twilight, and bit down hard.

As a result, she immediately vomited from the saltiness.

Shen Muzhi frowned, not quite believing that what he had made was so bad. He picked up a piece and put it in his mouth, and his face instantly contorted in disgust.

"Are you here to poison me?!" Xiang Zhilan drank two glasses of water in a row, glaring at him with a cold expression.

With dinner still undecided, she picked up her phone again, found a takeout menu, made a call, and ordered two set meals.

After she finished ordering, she realized why she had ordered for Shen Muzhi! Didn't that just give him a legitimate reason to stay and eat?

"What exactly do you want? Can't you just let me have a few days of peace and quiet?" Xiang Zhilan was already somewhat helpless.

"I didn't mean anything by it, I just wanted to remind you that even though we're separated, I'm still your husband. You should give up any other thoughts as soon as possible," Shen Muzhi said slowly, taking a sip of water.

Xiang Zhilan now understood. So he was here to prevent her from cheating on him. Did he really think she could do anything else while she was pregnant? What kind of woman did he take her for?
