Ni Sitian's good mood didn't last long.
The next day, Ni Ziqi called her. She didn't want to answer, but Ni Ziqi said it was about the child.
Her heart skipped a beat, sensing something was wrong. She was also curious about what Ni Ziqi meant, wondering if it was what she was thinking. So she agreed to meet Ni Ziqi.
Ni Ziqi certainly knows how to pick a place; she arranged to meet at the restaurant on the top floor of the Grand Hotel.
Ni Sitian knew this place well, and the managers all knew her, so she wasn't worried about what Ni Ziqi might do.
They agreed to meet at 11 o'clock, but Ni Sitian waited until 11:30 and still hadn't seen Ni Ziqi, so she stood up and prepared to leave.
"How can you be so impatient?" Ni Ziqi clicked her tongue twice, walked over, pulled out a chair, and sat down.
Ni Sitian stood there looking at her, her voice cold and indifferent: "What do you want?"
"Can't the older sister invite the younger sister to have a meal?" Ni Ziqi took the menu, ordered, then raised an eyebrow at Ni Sitian and said, "Sit down, let's eat and chat."
Ni Sitian disliked her smug look, but she also wanted to know the meaning of that sentence.
So, he calmed himself down and sat down to look at Ni Ziqi.
“Although we are not related by blood, and you have hurt me time and time again, I have decided to forgive you,” Ni Ziqi said magnanimously as she took a sip of her tea.
Ni Sitian felt like she was listening to a joke. Who had hurt whom more from childhood to adulthood? Who should be forgiven? She hadn't even said that yet, so how dare Ni Ziqi say it?
“Sitian, I know you’re having some trouble, and I’d be happy to help you,” Ni Ziqi said with a smile.
"I don't have the patience to listen to your nonsensical ramblings." Ni Sitian glanced at her watch and said, "I'll give you two more minutes."
"You've really become more and more arrogant since you married Xu Tingchuan," Ni Ziqi scoffed.
Ni Sitian's patience ran out, and she stood up to leave.
"Does Xu Tingchuan know you're a barren hen?" Ni Ziqi said smugly, thinking she had caught Ni Sitian red-handed.
Ni Sitian frowned, confirming her suspicions. But how did Ni Ziqi know about this? She herself had only found out two days ago.
"Are you scared? Feeling guilty?" Ni Ziqi raised her eyebrows slightly.
Ni Sitian sat down again, wanting to see how Ni Ziqi planned to use this matter to threaten her.
But she didn't expect Ni Ziqi to suddenly change her tone and become a gentle older sister, saying softly, "Speaking of which, I also bear some responsibility for this. I should have kept a closer eye on you and prevented you from falling into the icy river while playing."
Ni Sitian had never seen anything so shameless. She was the one who pushed her down, but now she was acting as if she had fallen down because she was playing around, completely shirking responsibility.
"What exactly do you want to say?" Ni Sitian didn't want to waste time arguing.
“A family like the Xu family definitely needs children. If you don’t have children, you and Xu Tingchuan will have no choice but to divorce. As your older sister, of course I don’t want to see you divorce.” Ni Ziqi suddenly reached out and grabbed Ni Sitian’s hand, staring into her eyes and said, “We are sisters, I can help you.”
Ni Sitian found her explanation inexplicable, as she didn't understand a word of it. She didn't believe she would kindly help her, and besides, how could she help with something like this—by introducing her to a doctor?
“If you don’t want to end up divorcing Xu Tingchuan, I can help you with surrogacy for the sake of our sisterhood.” Ni Ziqi gripped Ni Sitian’s hand tightly, her eyes shining brightly.
