Ni Sitian felt as if her soul was about to float out of her body, and slowly she lost consciousness.
Xu Tingchuan and his men have already opened dozens of containers, but this speed is simply not enough. There are thousands of large and medium-sized containers at Pier No. 7 alone. By the time he has searched them all, Ni Sitian may not be able to hold on any longer.
The more anxious you are, the calmer you need to be. He needs to think from Li Rui's perspective and figure out where it would be harder to find, and where no one would notice when it was being packed.
Li Rui wasn't guarding the area anymore; instead, he was watching over Xiang Zhilan and waiting for Shen Muzhi. This meant he might not be afraid that Shen Muzhi would find Pier 7. He was confident that even if Shen Muzhi came to Pier 7, he wouldn't find Ni Sitian. What made him so confident?
Xu Tingchuan frowned, then his expression suddenly changed. He wasn't in the warehouse! He was on the ship! Probably on a ship that had already set sail!
"Pei Yang, help me check which large cargo ships departing after 4 PM today are going to inspect the containers on the cruise ship!" Xu Tingchuan said urgently.
"Okay." Pei Yang replied and hung up the phone. Most of the cargo ships at Pier No. 7 belonged to his family, but such a big operation tonight was not something he could order alone. But now there was no other way. Even if it alarmed the old man and the others tomorrow, he could only do it first.
After making several phone calls, Pei Yang informed Xu Tingchuan of the firsthand information he had received: "The wind and waves are high today, and there are only two large cargo ships going out to sea. Another one departed at 11:05 and is about to set sail now."
Xu Tingchuan gripped his phone tightly and ran towards the port as fast as he could.
The captain had just received a notification from Pei Yang to delay the departure time, and was leading the crew to open the containers in the hold.
Xu Tingchuan saw several containers covered with tarpaulins at the stern of the ship, and immediately ordered his men to lift the tarpaulins and work together to open the containers.
After the lid in the middle was moved aside a tiny bit, Xu Tingchuan saw Ni Sitian's legs!
"Hurry up!" Xu Tingchuan shouted to the boatmen, and together they lifted the lid off.
Ni Sitian was lying inside, motionless, seemingly lifeless.
Xu Tingchuan jumped directly into the container, cupped Ni Sitian's cheeks, and gently patted them: "Sitian, Sitian, Ni Sitian!"
He received no response, and his fingers trembled as he reached for her nose, but he couldn't feel any breath.
"Ni Sitian!" Xu Tingchuan quickly performed first aid on her, pressing his hands against her chest, opening her mouth, and taking a deep breath to perform artificial respiration.
But after three attempts, there was still no response.
He carried Ni Sitian down the rope ladder from the container and ran quickly down the ship. He had never been so scared before. He felt her body slowly getting cold and stiff in his arms.
His vision began to blur, and something slipped down, wetting the back of Ni Sitian's hand.
Ni Sitian's drifting soul seemed to be illuminated by a powerful beam of light, and a force instantly brought her back.
She coughed a few times, and opened her eyes with some difficulty. She saw Xu Tingchuan crying, his tears scattered in the air.
"I knew...you would come..." She tried to raise her hand to touch his face, but she didn't have the strength. She managed to say one sentence before fainting again.
But this was enough to surprise Xu Tingchuan, who quickly got into the ambulance and handed her over to the doctors for emergency treatment.
"Ni Sitian, you are not allowed to die before I do!" Xu Tingchuan warned, gripping Ni Sitian's hand tightly.
