Upon hearing this, Ni Sitian paused for a moment, then smiled and shook her head, saying, "You forgot that I'm starting my internship tomorrow."
Xu Tingchuan realized that his words were somewhat inconsiderate. After a pause, he added, "We can come together next time we have time."
"Hmm." Ni Sitian's lips curled up slightly, wanting to say something else to Xu Tingchuan.
Just then, the doorbell rang in Xu Tingchuan's room. He got up to open the door, then took out his phone and asked, "What did you say you wanted?"
Ni Sitian saw a woman follow Xu Tingchuan into the room on the screen. She paused, then remained silent.
"What are you daydreaming about?" Xu Tingchuan looked at her on the screen and poked her cheek with his fingertip.
Ni Sitian snapped out of her daze and swallowed back what she was about to say: "It's nothing."
"Mr. Xu, this is the information sent by Mr. Fang from Wanhua." Lin Yi'an placed a folder next to Xu Tingchuan, her eyes lingering on his face for a couple of seconds. This was the first time she had seen such a relaxed and carefree smile on Xu Tingchuan's face.
"Just leave it here, you can go now." Xu Tingchuan didn't look up, his eyes still fixed on Ni Sitian on the screen.
Ni Sitian had no interest in continuing the phone call and said indifferently, "I'm going to sleep."
Xu Tingchuan thought that she was still on her period and needed to rest more, so he whispered, "Then don't kick off the blanket when you sleep at night, and make sure to cover your stomach."
"I understand." Ni Sitian pursed her lips, hesitated for a moment, and then kissed the screen: "Goodnight."
As soon as she finished speaking, she quickly hung up the phone.
Xu Tingchuan wiped his lips with his index finger, as if her goodnight kiss through the screen had already reached his lips.
Lin Yi'an stared at Xu Tingchuan in a daze, her eyes filled with infatuation.
She was both happy to see him like this and heartbroken that she wasn't the one receiving such tender care from him.
After her car accident, she rested for a few days before returning to the company, only to hear devastating news: many people in the company were saying that he had a girlfriend.
She had initially tried to convince herself that it was just a rumor, but now that she had seen him video calling a girl with a rare smile on his face, she could no longer deceive herself.
"Is there anything else?" Xu Tingchuan put away his phone and glanced at Lin Yi'an.
"Oh," Lin Yi'an quickly looked away, adjusted her expression, and said in a professional manner as a secretary, "President Fang of Wanhua has made an appointment to have lunch with you tomorrow at noon."
"Hmm," Xu Tingchuan replied casually.
Lin Yi'an had no excuse to stay any longer, so she turned around and walked out.
Only after closing his door did I dare to let my emotions show.
She had worked for Xu Tingchuan for three years and knew best his professional attitude towards female subordinates. If he found out about her feelings, she might not even be able to stay at the company.
She originally thought that someone as aloof as him would remain single forever, and that she would be content as long as she could stay by his side as his subordinate.
But when she saw how he treated that girl differently, she couldn't help but wonder why she couldn't be that girl.
The girl on the screen looks very young. Does that mean he prefers someone more youthful and energetic?
Lin Yi'an smiled and walked towards her room.
Meanwhile, Ni Sitian tossed and turned uncomfortably in bed. Of course she knew that the woman was probably Xu Tingchuan's secretary, but was it necessary to have such a beautiful secretary?
They even went into his room. What would they do in the room?
Ni Sitian covered her head with a pillow to stop herself from overthinking.
