Chapter 992 Feigning Indifference to Lure the Enemy

Ni Sitian originally thought that given Xu Tingchuan's overly demanding nature, he would do something to her that night, but it turned out that he just covered her with a quilt and slept.

She had been harassed the previous two nights, so it was a little strange to see him sleeping so quietly and obediently. She turned her head to peek at him and saw that he really did have his eyes closed.

She looked away, turned off the bedside lamp on her side, lay down, and closed her eyes.

He felt a little out of sorts for a while, since she always fell asleep first before he did.

"Hey, are you asleep?" Ni Sitian hesitated for a while, but finally couldn't help but speak to him.

After waiting for a while and not hearing his reply, she was a little disappointed. She turned her face back and stared at the dark ceiling.

I don't know if it's because she took a long nap today, but now she can't fall asleep.

Her mind is blank, and there's nothing to think about. These days, she just eats and sleeps, occasionally writing or drawing. She lives a very leisurely life, and her biggest worry is amnesia.

But this isn't something that can be solved just by wanting to; we can only let nature take its course. Maybe this will help me recall more of my past with Xu Tingchuan, and her university days.

Ni Sitian couldn't sleep, so she turned over out of boredom. A few minutes later, she turned over again.

After she had tossed and turned several times, she was suddenly pulled into someone's arms and hugged, her face buried in their chest.

"Stop flipping around, just go to sleep," Xu Tingchuan said softly.

Ni Sitian leaned against him, feeling a sense of security, like a small boat finding a dock. A slight smile appeared on her lips.

She seemed to have been deliberately turning over and over just to get him to pull her into his arms. After realizing this, she felt a little ashamed. How could her body like him so much? She wasn't reserved at all.

After giving herself a good scolding, Ni Sitian still fell asleep peacefully in his arms.

Xu Tingchuan smiled faintly, playing hard to get. This tactic always worked; she was practically throwing herself into his arms.

It's so nice to be able to hug each other openly like this, instead of doing it secretly.

He lowered his head and took a deep sniff of her hair, then hugged her tighter.

The following day, Xu Tingchuan called Shen Muzhi and asked him to meet up for a talk.

The meeting place was a business restaurant near Xu Tingchuan's company. Xu Tingchuan chose a secluded semi-private room and sat down. Just after he finished ordering, Shen Muzhi arrived.

Xu Tingchuan noticed that Shen Muzhi's complexion wasn't good; he seemed to have reverted to his state from a year ago when he suffered from chronic insomnia, with faint dark circles under his eyes. He knew perfectly well why this relapse was happening.

“There were too many people at the funeral yesterday, so it wasn’t convenient. I want to find out the details today. Of course, if you don’t want to talk about it, I can investigate it myself, it will just take a little more time.” Xu Tingchuan looked straight at Shen Muzhi and then asked, “That mute girl is Su Yan, am I right? She was the one who infiltrated Su Yan’s side to bring Su Chengwen back and gave us the evidence. She was also the one who reminded us. Only if it was her can all the logic make sense.”

Seeing him analyze the situation so calmly, Shen Muzhi didn't seem to show any surprise at the fact that Su Yan was still alive.

"You already have Ni Sitian, why do you still care whether Su Yan is alive or not?" He couldn't help but be sarcastic when he said it.

Xu Tingchuan frowned; Shen Muzhi had reverted to his attitude towards him from ten years ago.
