Chapter 1126 Unless You Marry Me

Hearing such shocking news outside the door, Li Yinan's usually calm face showed a look of astonishment.

Li Yiqing had just woken up and was yawning as she came out of her room when she saw Li Yinan standing motionless in front of Ni Sitian's door.

She crept closer, then suddenly jumped onto his back, wrapped her legs around his waist, covered his eyes with her hands, and giggled mischievously, "Guess who I am?"

Li Yinan snapped out of his shock and, fearing that Li Yiqing might fall, instinctively hooked his arm around her knee—a tacit understanding they had developed over many years.

"Get down, stop fooling around." Li Yinan released his hand and scolded him in a low voice.

"I won't come down unless you agree to marry me." Li Yiqing had been saying this to Li Yinan ever since she was sixteen years old.

"Qingqing, stop fooling around." Li Yinan pulled her off him. She was a grown woman now, and it was inappropriate for her to be so intimate with him. Every time she pressed against him, her sweet fragrance would fill his nostrils.

Li Yiqing held on tightly, taking advantage of the fact that Li Yinan wouldn't dare to pry her open too forcefully.

Suddenly, a loud commotion and Gu Linping's exclamation rang out in the room.

Li Yiqing shouldn't be making a fuss now, so she quickly got off Li Yinan and went into the room with him.

When Li Yinan saw that Ni Sitian had fainted, he took her from Gu Linping's arms, carried her to the bed, and asked Li Yiqing to call the family doctor.

After a while, Li Yiqing brought the person over.

After examination, it was found that the fainting was due to excessive emotional excitement and physical weakness.

The doctor advised Ni Sitian to rest well, avoid excessive stimulation, and maintain a positive mood.

Gu Linping couldn't stop crying; it was all her fault that her daughter was ruined.

"Mom, it's time for your medicine. Go back to your room." Li Yiqing had known for more than half a year that Ni Sitian was Gu Linping's biological daughter, and she finally understood why Ni Sitian had been adopted by this family.

Of all the children in the orphanage, Gu Linping chose her at first sight, probably because she looked somewhat like Ni Sitian. However, throughout her childhood, everyone in the Li family genuinely loved her, so she never felt like she was a substitute.

"Aunt Gu, listen to Qingqing. You need to take care of yourself so you can take good care of her." Li Yinan helped Gu Linping up. He knew how to persuade her in the most effective way.

Sure enough, after hearing his words, Gu Linping agreed to take her medicine with Li Yiqing.

Li Yinan looked at Ni Sitian's pale, peaceful sleeping face, sighed softly, and shook his head.

He finally understood why Gu Linping had been so desperately shouting to stop it on the phone, why she didn't want the child to be born.

However, he still let the child be born in the end. No wonder Gu Linping reacted so strongly when he told her about it; that child really shouldn't have been born.

He seems to have made a mistake; children born to close relatives usually die young, or are deformed or mentally retarded.

Li Yinan closed his eyes, exhaled a breath of turbid air, and turned to walk out of the bedroom.

He instructed the maid to go in and keep watch, and to notify them immediately if they woke up.

He walked towards Gu Linping's room, where the doctor was giving her an injection. Gu Linping was leaning against the headboard, murmuring with a look of remorse.

"Mom, don't scare me." Li Yiqing held Gu Linping's hand tightly with worry.

"Madam, you must avoid emotional fluctuations to maintain your health," the doctor said to Gu Linping in broken Chinese.

Gu Linping seemed not to hear, remaining in a daze.
