Because of the time difference, Xu Ziyu returned home at seven o'clock on Monday morning.
He opened the door and saw his parents sitting at the dining table, their heads close together, eating breakfast and studying something.
"Xiao Yu, you're back." Ni Sitian looked up and waved to him. "Come and see me."
Xu Ziyu changed into slippers and went inside. Looking down, he was surprised to see everything was red.
"These are the invitation templates sent by the wedding planning company. Your dad and I couldn't find one we liked no matter how many times we looked at them," Ni Sitian said to Xu Ziyu with a smile.
Xu Ziyu glanced at it and said only, "I have my own ideas about the invitations."
Ni Sitian was taken aback for a moment, then clapped her hands and laughed: "That's good. It's more thoughtful of you to do it yourself."
Xu Tingchuan was unhappy that his wife's attention was all on their son again, so he quietly squeezed her palm.
Ni Sitian turned around and glared at him, muttering under her breath, "You old lecher."
However, she dared not actually use the word "old" on her lips, as he had become increasingly averse to hearing it lately.
“When you went to Vienna this time, with Xiao Kui…” Ni Sitian’s gaze fell on the ring on her son’s ring finger, and she felt that there was no need to say anything more. It was obviously settled. She smiled even more happily and said, “It seems that when Xiao Kui comes back, our two families will have to have a meal together.”
When Xu Ziyu heard his mother say this, he nodded, and a smile involuntarily appeared on his lips.
"Alright, then let's not say anything more. Go wash up and have breakfast first," Ni Sitian said with a smile.
Xu Ziyu nodded, picked up his luggage bag and walked towards the stairs. After washing up, he came out and saw Xu Tingchuan standing on the corridor.
"Have you thought this through before getting married so early?" Xu Tingchuan didn't object to Xu Ziyu and Luo Xikui being together. He had watched Xiao Kui grow up since she was a child. She was kind and gentle, and he liked her very much. However, he felt that at their age, there was no need to rush into marriage.
Because he himself couldn't distinguish between childhood sweethearts and love, he and Su Yan wasted each other's time. Now that his son is about the same age as he was back then, it's normal for him to worry about these things. He's also afraid that his son will let Xiao Kui down.
“I know very well.” Xu Ziyu looked at his father and said firmly, “I know what I like and what I don’t like.”
"That's good." Xu Tingchuan didn't say anything more, patted his shoulder, and the father and son went downstairs together.
Ni Sitian was worried about her son, who had just returned home and was still jet-lagged, and hadn't slept well on the plane. She wanted him to rest for half a day before going to work, but he insisted on going to the company, and she couldn't do anything about it.
I had no choice but to see the father and son off and watch them get into the car together.
"The cooperation with Japan is progressing smoothly; you've done a great job," Xu Tingchuan said, swiping through the quarterly report on his tablet.
Xu Ziyu rarely heard praise from his father, and his first reaction wasn't joy, but rather a sense of ulterior motive. Although the cooperation project with Japan was a tough nut to crack, and it hadn't been easy for him to complete, he didn't think his father would praise him so easily.
"Just say what you have to say," he said directly to Xu Tingchuan. Conversations between father and son were always straightforward and direct.
"On your wedding day, I want to announce that you will be taking over as CEO of M&K," Xu Tingchuan said calmly.
Xiao Zhang, who was driving in front, was so surprised that he didn't expect his boss to be thinking about retirement so early. The young master was still so young, and it wouldn't be easy for him to win people's hearts.
Xu Ziyu frowned slightly, looked at his father, knew what he was planning, and said, "At least wait until after my honeymoon."
"I'll give you at most a two-week honeymoon leave." Xu Tingchuan was already impatient to step down.
"One month, or it's off the table," Xu Ziyu said firmly.
Xu Tingchuan frowned, seeing his son's tightly closed lips and expression that clearly indicated there was no room for negotiation, and said, "Deal."
Once he retires next April, he can fulfill his promise to his wife and travel the world.
