"I knew she was on the third floor. I was just visiting another friend." Ni Sitian hadn't done anything wrong, so she didn't feel guilty about lying; it was as if it were the truth.
Seeing her undisguised expression, Xin Zikai believed her and casually asked a few questions about her recent memory recovery.
Ni Sitian obediently answered, and finally asked, "Mr. Xin, is it possible for me to regain my memories?"
"It should be fine. I've been able to recall some things bit by bit, but I'm probably just missing a trigger." Xin Zikai was in a hurry to see Su Yan, so he didn't chat with Ni Sitian any longer.
After Ni Sitian thanked them, the two walked past each other, one after the other.
Ni Sitian paid extra attention and glanced back at Xin Zikai, only to see him enter 208.
She withdrew her gaze and went upstairs.
I ran into Xu Tingchuan as soon as I stepped off the emergency staircase.
Xu Tingchuan glanced behind her and raised an eyebrow slightly: "Did you go to the restroom in the stairwell?"
"No, there were too many people here, so I went to the second floor." Ni Sitian could lie smoothly in front of Xin Zikai, but she felt inexplicably guilty in front of Xu Tingchuan. To cover it up, she simply walked quickly to his side, took his hand, and said, "It's already 11:30. I'm hungry. Take me to get something to eat."
When Xu Tingchuan suddenly took her hand and heard her speak in such a coquettish tone, his heart softened instantly.
This was the first time she had taken the initiative to hold his hand since she lost her memory, and it was outside, in a hospital where people come and go.
But the way she spoke to him in a coquettish tone was just like a daughter speaking to her father.
"Okay, let's go eat." Xu Tingchuan grasped Ni Sitian's hand and led her outside.
Ni Sitian then realized what she had done to cover it up: she had actually taken his hand.
However, the feeling was actually not bad; his hands were broad and warm, and felt as familiar as if I had held them a thousand times.
Ni Sitian looked down, a faint smile playing on her lips.
After leaving the hospital, the two went to a nearby Chinese restaurant for a meal.
While Xu Tingchuan was ordering, Ni Sitian took out her phone and sent Xiang Zhilan what she had seen in room 208, adding that Xin Zikai was also there.
A second later, Xiang Zhilan replied with an "ok".
"Don't use your phone while eating." Xu Tingchuan put down the menu and tapped Ni Sitian's forehead.
"Yes, Uncle Xu," Ni Sitian replied with a pout, putting her phone away.
"What did you call me?" Xu Tingchuan's eyes narrowed dangerously.
Ni Sitian then realized that she had blurted out the nickname she was thinking of, and quickly covered her mouth and shook her head.
"Ni, Si, Tian," Xu Tingchuan called out, emphasizing each syllable as he looked at her.
"Brother Tingchuan, why did you call me?" Ni Sitian smiled ingratiatingly. She realized that this man really cared about his age. It seemed that he was very concerned about being so much older than her. Actually, when he wore casual clothes, he looked quite young. There might be a problem if he pretended to be a college student, but he would look about the same as a doctoral student.
Xu Tingchuan was truly helpless against her; she could always make him angry one second and happy the next.
"You're being punished by having to eat an extra bowl of rice today." He placed a piece of beef into her bowl.
“If you keep feeding me like this, I’ll turn into a pig before I even give birth.” Ni Sitian was quite helpless. She felt that her current figure was just right, but he always thought she was too thin and needed to be fattened up, which caused her to gain three or four pounds after being discharged from the hospital.
"It would be great to become a pig, I could have lots of piglets," Xu Tingchuan laughed.
