Chapter 1311 Critical Illness Notice

Shen Muzhi was pushed into the hospital in a wheelchair.

About half an hour later, I was lying in a hospital bed with an IV drip.

Dr. Chen, whom he had previously consulted, came in with his medical record folder and showed him the diagnosis results.

"Mr. Shen, I called you earlier and told you about your situation. I think you should inform your family so we can decide on a treatment plan together." Dr. Chen handed several test reports to Shen Muzhi.

This is the report of a comprehensive gastrointestinal examination that Shen Mu underwent a few days ago when he had stomach pain. He originally thought that his recent discomfort and nausea were due to a heavy blow to his back, but he never expected to receive such a result: stage II stomach cancer.

"Doctor, what are the chances of a complete cure with treatment?" Shen Muzhi looked down at the test results, then calmly looked up and asked.

"In medicine, cancer cure is basically achieved by extending the patient's survival time through treatment. With current technology, patients with mid-stage cancer can have their survival extended by five years with very good treatment and later combined with traditional Chinese medicine conditioning." Dr. Chen took back the test results, put the medical record folder away, and said, "I suggest you get a HER2 gene test to see if targeted therapy is possible."

Shen Muzhi pursed his lips and remained silent.

Having witnessed many patients' reactions to illness, Dr. Chen considered Shen Muzhi to be a calm type, so he turned and left the ward, leaving him alone to think things through.

Shen Muzhi lowered his eyes, took out a royal blue velvet box from his pocket, and opened the lid with his thumb. Inside, a diamond ring shone brightly, with a simple yet elegant design.

He had planned to take her and the children to the zoo on the 19th and then propose to her. He even went out to buy a ring today, but now the ring is useless.

His happiness was indeed as fleeting as fireworks. Just last night, he finally figured out what she meant by saying the night before that he couldn't move in. She had relented and was willing to become his wife again, to move in with a proper title.

If he hadn't been so slow to react, he probably would have taken her to get the marriage certificate yesterday before he felt at ease, because she's always so fickle.

However, he is now somewhat glad that he was slow to realize it, otherwise she would have been widowed in five years.

Shen Muzhi took out the ring, lowered his head and kissed it, then put it back in the box and threw it into the trash can.

I turned my head to look out the window, and the snow was falling even harder. I wondered if she had gotten back safely.

She was so angry that she said she would never forgive him again.

That's good, it means less sadness.

Shen Muzhi gave a self-deprecating smile, looked away, and glanced at the IV drip bottle, which was almost finished.

He pulled out the needle himself and got off the bed.

Ah Chao happened to come in and saw Shen Muzhi putting on his overcoat. He asked in confusion, "Sir?"

"I want to be discharged and go home." Shen Muzhi disliked the smell of disinfectant in the hospital. He knew he would be hospitalized for a long time in the future, and he didn't want to stay here at all.

Ah Chao frowned, wanting to persuade him, "But sir..."

Shen Muzhi ignored him, walked past him, opened the door, and left.

Just as Ah Chao was about to follow, he inadvertently glanced at a royal blue ring box in the trash can. Wasn't this the brand his husband had bought?

He walked over, squatted down, picked up the box, opened it, and saw that the ring was still inside. How could he have thrown it away? The gentleman wasn't that careless.

He frowned, put the box in his pocket, and quickly went out.
