Chapter 3 The Reasons for the Flash Marriage

The reason why Ni Sitian and Xu Tingchuan got married was quite a bizarre incident.

At that time, Ni Sitian was also rushing to finish a manuscript in a coffee shop when Xu Tingchuan inexplicably sat down opposite her, handed her a business card, and then began a series of self-introductions.

Before Ni Sitian realized that he had chosen the wrong blind date, she was about to interrupt him when she heard him say, "Miss Jiang, I see that we are both quite busy. If you are willing, we can go to register our marriage this afternoon."

Ni Sitian was so shocked that she choked on her saliva, coughed violently for a while, pointed at him, then at herself, and said incredulously, "This is the first time we've met, isn't it?"

Xu Tingchuan nodded, glanced at her delicate and youthful face, and said calmly, "I don't have much time to spend on dating. Besides, does getting to know someone necessarily mean you'll understand them? Some couples spend their whole lives together and still don't understand each other. Marriage is simply about finding a suitable partner and living a life of everyday chores."

Ni Sitian chuckled, barely suppressing her laughter, and gently shook her head, reminding him, "Mr. Xu, I'm afraid I'm not the person you're looking for."

Xu Tingchuan mistakenly thought she was politely rejecting him, so he paid for her coffee and stood up, saying, "I'm sorry to have taken up your time."

Before Ni Sitian could say anything more, Xu Tingchuan turned and left the coffee shop. After watching him walk away, Ni Sitian smiled, looked away, and continued typing her manuscript.

If you think what follows will be the start of a romantic relationship, you're wrong.

After finishing her manuscript, Ni Sitian received a phone call from her father, who was living abroad, asking her to go on a blind date with a man.

I don't know what kind of bewitching he was under, but he actually pushed his college-aged daughter to go on a blind date and told her to do whatever it takes to win over this person.

After she finished the call, she felt her whole body, including her hands and feet, turn ice cold.

After a moment of stunned silence, she picked up Xu Tingchuan's business card and dialed his number. Her voice was slightly hoarse and somewhat unsteady as she asked, "Mr. Xu, are you still willing to register for the marriage certificate this afternoon?"

Xu Tingchuan seemed to be stunned for a moment before saying, "Are you still in the coffee shop? I'll come pick you up."

"Hmm." Ni Sitian hung up the phone, lowered her hand, and gave a bitter smile.

Since it doesn't matter who she marries, she's determined not to marry the man chosen by that mother and daughter.

That afternoon, Xu Tingchuan returned and drove Ni Sitian home to get her household registration booklet. The two then went to the Civil Affairs Bureau to register.

Now, when Ni Sitian thinks back on it, she feels like she was possessed that day, and married herself off in a daze.

When Xu Tingchuan discovered that she was not the originally planned blind date Ms. Jiang, he did not react much, except when he saw her age, he frowned slightly.

This indifferent reaction gave Ni Sitian the illusion that it didn't matter who was registered in the marital relationship column as long as he married a woman.

Before registering the marriage, Xu Tingchuan made it very clear to her that he was very busy with work and might not be home much. He could fulfill all the duties of a husband, but he couldn't give her love. He hoped for a stable and peaceful marriage.

This suited her perfectly; her love had long since died.

After reaching an agreement, they went to the Civil Affairs Bureau and obtained their marriage certificate in about ten minutes.

After getting their marriage certificate, Xu Tingchuan gave her a key to his house and a bank card, then rushed off on a business trip.

That day, she went back, packed her things, and moved to his house with a suitcase.

Unexpectedly, Xu Tingchuan's business trip lasted for more than a month.

She was naturally happy to be free from having to live with a strange man.

Just as Xu Tingchuan had told her before their marriage, after they got married, he was so busy with work that he had no time to be at home at all.

During these three months, the only time she could see him was when he returned from business trips. Apart from some trivial matters, their communication was almost non-existent.

She didn't even know the exact location of his company, let alone anything else.

However, before today, she thought he was just a serious and aloof man with upright values. Little did she know that he was a scoundrel who didn't pick the flowers at home but loved to pick wild flowers!
