Chapter 228 Cautiously

After they finished talking, neither of them hung up, but the atmosphere wasn't the same as the sweet, bubbly farewell they had at noon; there was a hint of awkward silence.

Ni Sitian thought that this was probably because their relationship wasn't strong enough. The little argument that afternoon made them have to be a bit cautious in their interactions.

He was worried that she would be angry, while she felt that she shouldn't make excessive demands on him. They were both trying to compromise, but they couldn't grasp the right standard for compromise, so it seemed that they had suddenly grown apart.

"Well, I'll hang up now." Ni Sitian couldn't find any other topics to talk about with him, so she had to say this first.

"Wait a minute." Xu Tingchuan suddenly remembered something and said, "There are packets of traditional Chinese medicine in the refrigerator. The doctor prescribed them for you to regulate your menstrual cycle. Remember to drink one packet every day, and heat it up before you drink it."

So those medicines were for her. Ni Sitian immediately lowered her head. Traditional Chinese medicine is even harder to swallow than Western medicine.

"Do I really have to drink it every day?" she asked again, clinging to a sliver of hope.

"Hmm, don't throw it away." Xu Tingchuan thought of how restless she was when taking her medicine and wanted to laugh a little, but he said very seriously, "It won't be very bitter. Think about whether it's better to be in pain all the time or to take some time to get better."

"Oh," Ni Sitian replied listlessly, then felt another sharp pain in her stomach and gasped.

Xu Tingchuan noticed something was wrong with her voice and asked, "What's wrong?"

Ni Sitian frowned and shook her head. After a while, she remembered that he couldn't see her, so she endured the pain and said, "I'm feeling a little uncomfortable."

"Where does it hurt?" Xu Tingchuan was getting anxious. He couldn't see her, so he didn't know where she was in pain or how much it hurt.

"It's not a big deal, just a dull ache, I guess my period is about to start." Ni Sitian rubbed her stomach, and the pain subsided.

Xu Tingchuan remembered that she had fainted from menstrual cramps last time, and immediately became worried, saying, "I'll have someone drive you to the hospital."

"It's not that serious, it's really just a little bit." Ni Sitian smiled gently, feeling warmed by his anxiety and worry.

"Really? You weren't just putting on a brave face?" Xu Tingchuan was still worried.

"Really, I'm not lying to you. It doesn't seem to hurt anymore," Ni Sitian said with a smile.

Hearing her voice return to normal, Xu Tingchuan's brows slowly relaxed, and he said earnestly, "If you feel unwell, go to the hospital immediately, understand?"

“Okay, I understand.” Ni Sitian nodded.

"Then get some rest early, goodnight," Xu Tingchuan said softly.

"Good night." After saying that, Ni Sitian waited a while to make sure Xu Tingchuan had nothing more to say before hanging up the phone.

As soon as she hung up the phone, her stomach churned, and she felt nauseous and wanted to vomit. She bent over and dry-heaved in the trash can for a while.

After vomiting, although nothing came out, I felt much better.

She got up and went to the bathroom to wash up. After changing into her pajamas, she went to bed.

I didn't sleep well at night. My stomach would hurt a little bit from time to time, but it wasn't very painful. It didn't feel like my period.

She was too tired to get up and check, so she just rolled up in the blanket and went back to sleep.

The pain subsided in the latter half of the night, probably because the painkillers had taken effect, and she began to fall into a deep sleep.

She slept until dawn, when sunlight streamed through the curtains onto her face. She rubbed her eyes and woke up.
