Chapter 1301 Candlelight Dinner

Li Yiqing's matter will be put aside for the time being.

After leaving Ni Sitian's house, Xiang Zhilan took a taxi to Shen Muzhi's place.

She saw a shop along the way, asked the driver to stop, quickly went in, bought some things, came out, and got back into the car.

It was already six o'clock when she arrived at Shen Muzhi's villa.

It was cold, and the sun set early; by six o'clock the sky was already a grayish-blue.

She carried a rectangular box and walked through the door.

The lights inside were on, and the warm yellow light dispelled some of the chill. She put down the box, took off her gloves, and removed her heavy coat.

It's strange today. The living room is empty, there's no one there. Butler Chen and the other servants are not here. Even if they're all on spring break, shouldn't one or two have come back by now?

"Shen Muzhi?" she called out, her brows furrowing slightly.

He came downstairs dressed formally in a charcoal gray suit, a striped thin tie, and his hair was neatly combed.

Xiang Zhilan didn't quite understand the meaning behind his outfit, but he was very handsome, with a touch of aloofness in his handsomeness.

Just as she was about to ask a question, the lights in the room suddenly went out, leaving only one spot with light. She turned her head to look and saw a silver candlestick on the dining table, with long white candles flickering with small flames.

In the center of the table was a basket of beautifully arranged white roses, flanked by silver cutlery, with the food covered under delicate lids.

Xiang Zhilan withdrew her gaze, looked at Shen Muzhi who had already walked up to her, and said calmly, "You've come to invite me to a candlelight dinner?"

Shen Muzhi smiled faintly, walked over, pulled out a chair, and looked at her.

Xiang Zhilan walked over and sat down. Shen Muzhi personally lifted the lid, and white steam came out, revealing a whole Australian lobster.

She pursed her lips helplessly. He really did invite her to eat seafood. With such a huge lobster, she was full without needing anything else.

He's really...

It's as if every time he knows what she likes, he'll bring it over and pile it in front of her; that's how simple and direct his kindness is.

She looked up at him; his plate contained scallops and lamb chops.

"Your stomach isn't good, so it's not suitable for you to eat these things right now. Where's Chef Wang? Let him cook some porridge." Xiang Zhilan stopped him from doing something foolish like eating greasy food with her.

"I sent them all on holiday." Shen Muzhi had sent them away before she arrived. He was afraid she would be shy and refuse to comply, so he said, "Don't worry, they won't be back before noon tomorrow."

Xiang Zhilan was annoyed; this guy was indeed hinting at that kind of thing.

She got up, turned on the light, rolled up her sleeves, and went to the kitchen. She took out lean meat and radishes, and in a few minutes, she made a carrot and lean meat porridge for Shen Muzhi, then took away his lamb chops and scallops.

"You don't understand?" Shen Muzhi glanced at the plate that had been removed, feeling both amused and exasperated.

"What?" Xiang Zhilan thought the scallops were grilled well, so she took them and ate them herself.

Shen Muzhi watched her eat without any restraint, probably because she really didn't understand that mutton and scallops could strengthen the kidneys.

"It's nothing, eat more, would you like some red wine?" The romantic atmosphere that Shen Muzhi had created had been almost completely ruined by her, so she was too lazy to turn off the lights again.

"No need." Drinking will lead to trouble, and she didn't come here tonight to do "that" with Shen Muzhi.

Xiang Zhilan lowered her head to eat, and the atmosphere was too quiet, so she started talking to Shen Muzhi about the children going to early childhood education.
