Although Xu Tingchuan had done his best to comfort her and had laid so much groundwork beforehand.
But at night, Ni Sitian felt increasingly uncomfortable and couldn't fall asleep while lying in bed.
She hadn't quite grasped the reality at first, but gradually realized it was real. It's like when someone first loses their wallet, they always think that the wallet isn't actually lost and can be found again, but it takes a long time before they realize that it's truly gone forever.
That's her current state; the longer it goes on, the clearer she realizes that she might really be unable to have children.
The more she had longed for a child with Xu Tingchuan, the more heartbroken she was now.
Twenty-two is the prime of a woman's life; her happiness is just beginning. Why must her wings be clipped, leaving her incomplete? All she wanted was to give the person she loved a baby of their own; why is that so difficult?
Ni Sitian felt a lump in her throat and turned her back to him. She slowly curled up her legs, buried her head, bit her fingers, kept her eyes closed, her eyelashes trembled slightly, and a tear slid down her cheek.
In the ever-growing years to come, I'll watch the people around me get married and have children, watch their children grow up, then have grandchildren, and then great-grandchildren...
When they are in their seventies and eighties, surrounded by children and grandchildren, she and Xu Tingchuan will be all alone. If one of them passes away first, the one left behind will be even more lonely, without children, without anything to rely on, and will be left to suffer in old age, eventually ending up in a nursing home.
Thinking about all this, Ni Sitian felt even more distressed. She knew it was too early to think about it now, but she would inevitably face it in the future. Even if Xu Tingchuan wouldn't blame her, she would still find it hard to get over this mental hurdle.
"You're overthinking again. When will your little brain start thinking more about me and less about those random things?" Xu Tingchuan heard her soft voice and turned to pull her small body into his arms.
Ni Sitian turned around in his arms, grabbed Xu Tingchuan's collar, and bit her lip without saying a word.
Xu Tingchuan sighed softly, rolled over and pinned Ni Sitian down, lowered his head and kissed her lips, trying to distract her.
Soon, Ni Sitian's lips were red and swollen from being sucked. She pushed away his chest, her voice soft and a little hoarse: "Why are you bullying me?"
"If I don't bite, you'll bite anyway, so I might as well bite you." Xu Tingchuan rubbed his swollen little mouth with his thumb. It looked like a cherry, with his lips swollen and pouting from being sucked.
Ni Sitian looked into Xu Tingchuan's dark eyes, which were filled with his deep love for her.
She raised her hand to encircle Xu Tingchuan's neck, tilted her head slightly, and kissed him on the lips, her voice low and husky: "Let's do it."
She wanted to be tired, to forget about it for a while, and to have him bring her ultimate pleasure to numb her overthinking.
"Let's do it," she said softly when she saw that he didn't move.
Xu Tingchuan gazed deeply into her eyes. He knew what she was thinking and felt incredibly heartbroken. He lowered his head and kissed her forehead, brow bone, eyes, nose, cheeks, and lips.
He showered her face with kisses, gently caressing her with tenderness in every gesture, attending to her senses. He wanted to do everything in his power to make her feel pleasure and forget the things that made her sad.
“Tingchuan…” Her hands gripped his back, her body trembling with pleasure, and she kept calling his name.
