Shen Muzhi stopped in his tracks and turned to look, meeting a pair of large, dark eyes.
A beautifully sculpted little doll sat in the shopping cart, looking at him with a blank expression.
Her eyes, nose, and mouth looked so much like an enlarged version of his daughter's first birthday photo, and so much like Xiang Zhilan.
Shen Muzhi was stunned, standing there staring at her without moving.
The little girl felt strange after being stared at by strangers for a long time. Instinctively, she turned around to find someone she knew and called out to Luo Che, "Daddy, Daddy, Uncle, look at me."
Luo Che turned around, bent down and patted Xiao Kui's head, then looked up at Shen Muzhi, following the direction of her little finger.
He was slightly taken aback; how could this person resemble Hengheng so much?
When Shen Muzhi heard the girl call Luo Che "Dad," he suddenly came to his senses and looked at Luo Che.
He smiled bitterly to himself, thinking that the resemblance was probably just a coincidence. How could his daughter be here? How could his daughter call someone else "Dad"?
Shen Muzhi snapped out of her daze, stepped back a little, and let Luo Che's shopping cart go first.
Luo Che nodded politely to him and pushed his shopping cart past him.
Shen Muzhi's heart suddenly tightened, and he abruptly reached out and grabbed the edge of Luo Che's shopping cart.
"Sir, is there something you need?" Luo Che looked up in confusion.
Shen Muzhi lowered his eyes to look at the beautiful and delicate little girl, his heart aching. If his daughter were here, she would be about the same age. He remembered Xu Jiayue telling him that his daughter's nickname was Xiao Kui; he didn't even know her full name.
"Daddy..." Xiao Kui called out to Luo Che, stretching out her little hands as if she wanted him to hug her.
Luo Che wanted to correct her, but he also enjoyed her calling him that, and lovingly picked her up from the shopping cart.
As if frightened by Shen Muzhi's gaze, Xiao Kui buried her head in Luo Che's shoulder and neck, her little arms tightly wrapped around him.
What a loving father and daughter! Shen Muzhi looked at Luo Che with some envy and couldn't help but say, "Your daughter is so cute."
Luo Che smiled faintly, about to tell him it was a misunderstanding, when he heard Xiang Zhilan's voice from the front: "A-Che, Xiao Kui..."
Shen Muzhi froze, unable to believe what he was hearing, staring blankly without turning around.
Xiang Zhilan only saw Xiao Kui and Luo Che, and didn't notice the figure next to her for a moment.
She walked over quickly and said helplessly to Luo Che, "She's clinging to you for a hug again."
"What does it matter? Xiao Kui is still young." Luo Che glanced at Xiang Zhilan's shopping basket and asked, "Have you bought everything?"
"Okay, I've picked out your toothbrush and towel too. Take a look and see if they're suitable for you." Xiang Zhilan put the shopping basket into the shopping cart and took out the toothbrush and towel to ask him.
“I like everything you picked.” Luo Che smiled gently.
"Please, A-Che, don't always..." Xiang Zhilan's throat was instantly choked.
Shen Mu's gaze pierced her, his dark eyes swirling with unpredictable emotions.
The two stared at each other, and the air froze instantly. The noisy supermarket became so quiet that you could hear a pin drop.
Luo Che also sensed something unusual, and his heart skipped a beat. He had just thought this person resembled Hengheng. Could it be such a coincidence?
Xiang Zhilan was stunned for a few seconds before recovering and a faint, beautiful smile appeared on her lips: "Mr. Chen, it's been a long time."
"Mr. Shen?" Shen Muzhi's face darkened. She actually called him Mr. Shen so casually, as if nothing had ever happened between them.
Haha, Mr. Shen.
