Chapter 23

Chapter 23

Jiang Xiangyang forced himself to open his eyes and saw a bright and clear board. He squinted for a long time before realizing that it was the top surface of a machine made of alloy.

His sight turned, and he found himself in a place that looked like a medical recovery cabin. Jiang Xiangyang sat up, and his memory gradually returned. He couldn't help but be a little surprised. He still remembered the violent impact he suffered when he landed, but now he didn't feel any pain at all. He rolled up his sleeves, and the small piece of skin exposed was white and tender, and the bruises from the accidental bumps a few days ago were gone.

Jiang Xiangyang glanced around again. Fluorescent blue electronic lights flashed through the walls, the incandescent lights were dimmed to a gentle and bright tone, and the mechanical construction was completely futuristic. He paused, supported himself on the edge of the cabin with his palms, and with a clever move, he flipped over and jumped out of the medical cabin. He smiled and patted the cabin wall: "Thanks, big brother."

The electron gun, micro terminal, laser sword and other miscellaneous items were placed on the small table next to him. Jiang Xiangyang put them on again and touched his stomach involuntarily. He didn't feel hungry at all. He moved around a bit and found that he was in good physical condition and had no discomfort.

After being stunned for a while, Jiang Xiangyang walked out of the room.

I thought this place was huge, but I ended up reaching the end in less than ten minutes. However, the facilities were very complete, including training rooms, food storage rooms, lounges...all kinds of facilities.

This place doesn't look like a starship, but more like a navigation-type spaceship. Some of the construction is relatively old, while some is advanced, highlighting a sense of incongruity. Jiang Xiangyang observed carefully and found that most places showed signs of modification and running-in.

In front of him was the door to the driver's cab. People could enter and exit other places freely, but this door required permission. Jiang Xiangyang was a little hesitant as he couldn't get in. He was not sure if there was anyone inside.

Jiang Xiangyang now has a lot of questions, such as where did the little ball go, why it is not next to him, and not in any room here, such as where is this place, and why mechanized buildings appeared in primitive times.

The biggest question is the last figure Jiang Xiangyang saw before he fell into a coma.

The new transfer student, his temporary partner, Shang Yi.

"Yang Yang Yang Yang——"

A small impact came from Jiang Xiangyang's side, shattering his confused thoughts. Jiang Xiangyang quickly opened his arms and accurately grasped the two needle-shaped ears of the small ball with both hands. He said with a fierce face: "Where did you go just now?"

The little ball was actually frightened by Jiang Xiangyang for a moment, but after a few seconds, he realized that Jiang Xiangyang was a paper tiger. He was genuinely worried and quickly rubbed his head against his hand, saying flatteringly, "I'm going out to help."

Jiang Xiangyang was surprised: "Who are you helping?"

The little ball answered obediently: "Black touch."

Jiang Xiangyang: “…Who is that?” Wasn’t that Shang Yi he saw before?

"Please make way!"

The shout pierced his ears from the side, and Jiang Xiangyang only saw a black shadow rushing from the place where the small ball had just appeared. He subconsciously took a half step back to make room.

The door that had been tightly closed suddenly opened, and the black shadow passed over Jiang Xiangyang, bringing up a gust of wind, and went straight into the door.

Jiang Xiangyang: “…”

If he was not mistaken, that person just now didn't seem to be a person?

Seeing that the half-open door was about to close, Jiang Xiangyang threw away his hesitation, holding the small ball in his hand, and stepped in nimbly.

It was indeed the cockpit, but the buttons were lined up from left to right, almost taking up half of the room. It was more complete than any starship Jiang Xiangyang had ever seen, and there were even many instruments he had never seen before.

The black shadow stopped in front. It was indeed not a person. Jiang Xiangyang couldn't tell what it was. It looked like a ferocious beast, but he always felt something was wrong. If there was anything that needed attention, it was probably the halo on the other party's head.

But Jiang Xiangyang's attention was not on these things. All his sights were focused on the man sitting on the chair in the next second.

The man sat with his back to him, revealing his head, pale neck, and a small part of his straight back. His hands were casually spread out, resting on the armrests. When Jiang Xiangyang looked over, he suddenly moved, gripped the armrests tightly, and then slowly stood up.

Without looking at the halo from the black beast, the man walked towards him, and his speed was as slow as he had seen before he fell into a coma, but Jiang Xiangyang couldn't help but hold his breath.

The oppressive feeling when they first met appeared again.

Those dark and deep pupils seemed to be unable to emit any light, like a deep pool that was unclear, and the whole body exuded a bone-chilling cold aura.

The sound of footsteps hitting the ground was a bit dull, but it reached Jiang Xiangyang's ears clearly, matching the sound of his rapidly beating heart.

One step after another, closer and closer.

The figure of the man coming with the backlight seemed to stretch and enlarge in an instant, making Jiang Xiangyang look like a tiny speck of dust. Jiang Xiangyang's pupils trembled slightly. He didn't know what was going on. He had only one thought.

I want to escape, escape quickly, my whole body is shouting this, but I can't move a step!

Seeing the man's hand reaching out to him, Jiang Xiangyang shouted weakly in his heart: It's over.

However, at this moment, the man's body softened, his outstretched hand touched his cheek, then slid down onto Jiang Xiangyang's shoulder, and he fell into Jiang Xiangyang's arms.

The heavy and stagnant feeling in the air miraculously disappeared at this moment.

Jiang Xiangyang hadn't moved yet. He was still staring at the front. The small ball was blocked from view by the man and squeezed out from the gap.

The little ball floated up and looked at Jiang Xiangyang, whose eyes were blank, and asked doubtfully, "Yangyang?"

With a thud, Jiang Xiangyang slipped and fell to the ground, scaring the little ball.

After coming back to his senses, Jiang Xiangyang quickly took action and caught the man's head which was about to hit the ground. He held the man in his weak arms, his little heart still trembling.

He didn't dare to look at Shang Yi, and could only stare ahead and say bitterly, "What the hell is going on?"

At that moment just now, I really felt like I was going to die.

The man's face was pressed against Jiang Xiangyang's chest, hot and full of vitality. The sound of his heart beating was so clear, so strange, and so... warm.

It made him want to get closer.

Then, without waiting for him to move, Jiang Xiangyang moved after a while. It was his second time picking up the man, and practice makes perfect. The only inconvenience was that his legs were shaking.

The man was obviously unhappy with the interruption. His frown moved, and after a while, he opened his eyelids again.

When their eyes met, Jiang Xiangyang's gaze reflexively shrank and his body involuntarily took a few steps back.

He didn't realize that he was still in a paralyzed state and his feet couldn't stand on the ground at all.

Shang Yi pulled Jiang Xiangyang back before he lost his balance.

"I......"

"sorry."

The former partner with the typical coffin face spoke a complete sentence first, and Jiang Xiangyang looked up at him in surprise.

The expressionless man's eyes flashed with annoyance. Perhaps it was because he had frightened Jiang Xiangyang just now. "I react more to the outside world after falling asleep."

Jiang Xiangyang was stunned for a moment, then laughed out loud: "Ah... So you were sleeping just now, sorry to disturb you."

Shang Yi shook his head and did not hold Jiang Xiangyang responsible for his unauthorized intrusion. The black giant beast ran over from behind, glanced at Jiang Xiangyang, and handed the halo back to Shang Yi's hand.

The halo entered Shang Yi's palm and disappeared in an instant. Jiang Xiangyang blinked and felt that Shang Yi's condition had suddenly improved a lot. He was about to ask something, but when he met Shang Yi's gaze, he suddenly couldn't ask for some reason.

Shang Yi turned around and walked to the operating table, raised his hand and started typing, as if he was writing an unfinished program. Jiang Xiangyang felt a little touched that Shang Yi did not avoid him. After walking closer and taking a quick look, he found that he could not understand it at all.

I don’t know if Shang Yi didn’t avoid him because of this.

Jiang Xiangyang slumped. Since the other party had tacitly agreed, he simply stopped peeking and stood beside her, watching openly. After a while, he asked again, "You don't look well. Are you feeling unwell?"

Shang Yi didn't even raise his head: "It's an old problem, it makes me weak easily, I'll be fine after a good night's sleep."

Jiang Xiangyang uttered an "oh." The illness was a private matter, and the other party wasn't very important, so he didn't ask any more questions. After a moment's hesitation, he asked the question he really wanted to ask: "Why are you here? And what is this place? And...is this spaceship yours?"

Shang Yi paused, stopped moving, and looked at him.

Jiang Xiangyang held his breath.

He heard Shang Yi tell him in an unpredictable tone: "It's the same reason you came here. To be more precise, your appearance here is my mistake."

Jiang Xiangyang: “…?”

"This spaceship was damaged and I left it behind. This is a planet I visited long ago. The address is hidden in the memory bank and was randomly selected by the space navigation system." Shang Yi's eyes darkened slightly, as if thinking of something, then he regained his composure and continued, "It's more than a dozen star systems away from your home."

Jiang Xiangyang: “…”

"I'll take you back." This was his responsibility, and Shang Yi wouldn't refuse. "But I'm having health problems, so I need to get some things back first. There are space transfer stations in several places I'm going to, which can take a shortcut to your planet. If you don't mind, I'll decide the rest of the itinerary."

He could clearly understand every word, but when put together they seemed like a mystery. Jiang Xiangyang listened to the whole thing in a daze. His eyes met Shang Yi's and he nodded mechanically. Then he raised his hand, like a student who wanted to ask a question.

The man thought Jiang Xiangyang wanted to ask about his identity and the purpose of landing on the new planet. However, Jiang Xiangyang did not mention this at all. Instead, he asked: "Should we leave now, or...?"

Shang Yi replied: "After a while, I don't have enough energy now."

Jiang Xiangyang breathed a sigh of relief and asked with a hint of anticipation, "Can I go out during this time?"

"Where are you going?"

"Go outside, I want to see the planet."
