Chapter 122 Reiner's Choice

Just as Ulysses was pondering, the dinner bell suddenly rang.

"Ring! Ring! Ring!"

Having grown accustomed to the effects of the meal bell, Ulysseton felt ravenously hungry.

He overslept today and didn't eat breakfast.

Now, upon hearing the dinner bell, he immediately stands up without hesitation, pushes open the door of the combat laboratory, and heads towards the cafeteria.

The road leading to the cafeteria is crowded every day.

There were many female soldiers coming and going, walking in groups toward the canteen.

After Ulysses passed a fork in the road, he noticed two pairs of eyes staring intently at him from behind.

He raised an eyebrow and turned to look.

It turned out to be James and Reiner, following closely behind him.

Ulysses laughed:

"Have you finished writing your self-criticisms?"

James hesitated for a moment, then quickly swallowed the words that were on the tip of his tongue:

"...Hmm, it's finished. Admiral Ulysses, shall we go to the radio station now to read the self-criticism?"

Ulysses nodded and took out his personal computer to input a command.

"You can go now. The radio station door is open. You have half an hour to finish your self-criticism and go to the cafeteria for lunch."

James and Reiner nodded and turned to walk toward the radio station.

The two walked arm in arm, as if afraid the other would run away.

To prevent anyone from betraying the secret, the two of them sat down together to write this self-criticism.

Every word and phrase is meticulously crafted and does not reveal any problems.

Walking down the street, James muttered to himself:

"When you get to the broadcasting station, don't say anything out of line. The loudspeakers are always on."

Reiner, head bowed, gave the same instructions:

"Don't talk nonsense or mutter under your breath."

The two walked forward nervously, turned three corners, and went down five floors before finally arriving at the entrance of the broadcasting station.

James nervously opened the door, then resolutely walked in.

The radio station was an empty room with thick soundproofing cotton covering the walls.

This place appears to be empty, but in fact, the entire interior of the room is filled with microphones, connecting directly to each floor of the warship.

James slowly exhaled, made a gesture, and began reading the manuscript in his hand.

"Hello everyone, I am Private James. I sincerely apologize to my comrade for the extreme incident I committed yesterday in the mess hall, intimidating him..."

Two minutes passed quickly.

James finished reading the manuscript without incident, and then glanced at Reiner beside him.

Reiner nodded, raised his trembling hand, and began to read the manuscript word by word.

"Hello everyone, this is Private Reiner. Yesterday, I lied to James in the mess hall, which led to the conflict..."

Because they were preoccupied, the two read the manuscript slowly and deliberately, without any emotion, as if afraid of making a mistake.

Fortunately, the final result was pleasing; the two kept the secret and nothing unexpected happened.

After reading the manuscript aloud, they closed the door and left without hesitation.

With a loud "bang!"

The door to the broadcasting room was closed.

The two leaned back against the hydraulic door and smiled at each other.

James let out a soft breath:

"From now on, we'll keep this secret!"

Reiner felt a little heat on his neck. He wiped the sweat from his neck and nodded.

"Yes, heaven doesn't know, earth doesn't know, only you and I know!"

Inside the cafeteria.

Ulysses listened to the two men's written apologies over the radio and smiled slightly.

Great, another conflict within the fleet has been resolved.

After dinner.

Night fell again.

The warship will be able to land on the First Exploration Legion's base at 6:00 AM tomorrow.

They will actually return to the ground.

The female soldiers returned to their dormitories early to prepare for rest.

Reiner and James, though initially at odds, quickly became close friends.

After finishing their meal, the two returned to their dormitory together.

Their dormitories were located on either side of Roderick.

"Bye-Bye."

Reiner smiled and waved to James, then turned and closed the door.

What a fulfilling day!

As Reiner sighed, he twisted his uncomfortable neck and headed towards the bathroom.

He wondered if it was because the day had been too stressful, but he felt a bit hot all over.

Especially after uncovering Admiral Ulysses's secrets.

Reiner's nerves were never relaxed.

Ten minutes later.

In the bathroom, Reiner felt a little dizzy, and even his skin felt hot.

"What's wrong with me? I'm getting more and more nervous the more I wash. It's still so hot."

Reiner touched his face and muttered a complaint to himself.

Suddenly, Reiner froze.

A possibility came to mind.

His body is hot; could it be that he's experiencing his heat cycle?

Reiner nervously raised his trembling hand, wanting to use the personal terminal to call a doctor with one click.

But after opening the help page, he couldn't bring himself to press the red emergency help button.

A surge of jealousy welled up in his heart, and his eyes turned red with envy.

Other females can have sweet dreams, dreams that include male insects.

He actually wanted to have that kind of dream too, but he had never even seen a male insect, so how could he dream about it?

He was actually very jealous of James and General Ulysses.

He wanted to try and see if he could take advantage of the current craze to dream of having a male insect.

After hesitating for half an hour, Reiner finally gritted his teeth, put his hand down, and left the bathroom wrapped in a towel.

"Never mind, let's see if I can dream about the male insect tonight."

Even if I don't dream about it, at worst I'll just get laughed at tomorrow!

Get everything sorted out.

Despite his physical discomfort, Reiner lay down on the bed and fell asleep.

I don't know how much time passed.

In the midst of nothingness, Reiner suddenly regained his consciousness.

He slowly opened his eyes, and then his pupils suddenly dilated as he was stunned by what he saw.

Everything before my eyes was a blinding white.

The white stone prisms support a pure white, solemn hall, without a single impurity.

Above the main hall, there is a platform made of jade.

Reiner squinted and examined it carefully for a few seconds.

Is this... the judge's bench?

Is this a courtroom?

Before he could figure it out, a figure dressed in white appeared on the judge's bench.

Leiner stared intently at the male insect's face, his breath catching in his throat. Black hair and black eyes—could this be the male insect lord?

He finally dreamed of the male insect!

Reiner pursed his lips excitedly, his face flushed with excitement.

"Male insect sir, I've finally met you. I want you to..."

Reiner blushed; he wanted to reveal all his hidden desires.

He wanted the male insect in his dream to pounce on him, just like in his other dreams! Don't be too polite to him!

But before he could finish speaking, he was suddenly interrupted.

A black cage of thorns descended from the sky, enveloping him and trapping him in place.

Reiner looked at the black thorny vines around him, somewhat at a loss.

On the judge's bench, the black-haired male insect stood solemnly and said in a deep voice:

"You are full of sins, what right do you have to make demands!"

Reiner's face stiffened. He looked up and saw someone covered in sin? Was that referring to him?

There was a moment of silence in the main hall.

After a long pause, Reiner scratched his head and asked, looking confused:

"What crime have I committed? Yet the Interstellar Court hasn't even tried me."

The black-haired Yao Zu twitched his nose; the scent emanating from Leiner was severely impairing his judgment.

He desperately wanted to get close to Reiner, but felt that Reiner's behavior violated his principles.

Yaozu frowned and said:

"You eavesdrop on other people's secrets and emotionally blackmail them."

You even incite the masses, all to achieve your own goals.

You might even try to manipulate public opinion, exploit others' weaknesses, and control them.

Aren't these sins?

When Reiner heard this, his eyes lit up. He felt that he had met a kindred spirit.

Why is it that the person before you can describe his behavior so accurately?

"Your Excellency, I did indeed do those things, but I..."

Before Leiner could finish speaking, he saw the male insect leave the judgment platform and walk towards them.

The black-haired Yao clan utterly despised his actions, but he couldn't control his legs.

He walked over to Reiner in two quick steps and touched Reiner's cheek with his finger.

The attraction of souls cannot be stopped by anything.

They admired and understood each other.

Even if Reiner is a bad guy.

The black-haired Yaozu angrily pinched Leiner's chin.

"Confess to me, and I will forgive you."

What wrong things have you done? Tell me.

I know what you want; after you repent, I will grant it to you.
