Chapter 20

Chapter 20

Luo Hengzhi let Ye Zi lead him without struggling. He should have known that this cultivator wouldn't let him go so easily.

Luo Hengzhi didn't resist at all, and was carried away by Ye Zi like a walking corpse!

Following Long Bao's guidance, Ye Zi arrived at the spatial rift.

A beam of light emanated from Long Bao's forehead, striking the air in front of him and exposing a spatial rift.

Ye Zi glanced at Luo Hengzhi, who had been silent the whole way. She released Luo Hengzhi's hand, which she had been holding, and wrapped her arms around Luo Hengzhi's waist. Then, she quickly formed a hand seal with one hand, creating a protective shield that enveloped the two of them.

Luo Hengzhi had no objection to Ye Zi's intimate actions, leaving it entirely up to Ye Zi to lead them towards the violently turbulent spatial rift.

The two passed through the spiritual waves and entered the rift. When Luo Hengzhi looked at the scene before her, the words "Shangri-La" automatically came to mind!

Luo Hengzhi was mesmerized by the fairyland before her. Exotic flowers and plants shimmered with spiritual light, and fruits she had never seen before adorned the branches. Various strange beasts darted and leaped through the forest, glancing at the two intruders as they passed by before completely ignoring them.

Ye Zi looked at Long Bao on her shoulder: "This is the child you said was abandoned by your father and left here! You call living in a place like this abandoning a child?"

"Don't worry about me anymore, I'll just throw you away, but the place I throw you away... will look a tiny bit nicer!" Long Bao touched his little nose with a hint of grievance when he thought about being abandoned by his father and brothers, as if he was about to cry at any moment.

“This place is rich in spiritual energy, it’s like a small secret realm with abundant resources. Your father really knows how to abandon his child, he did it with such great care!” Ye Zi said, looking at the precious spiritual herbs on the ground.

[Who throws their child away with the same magnanimity as the Dragon Clan? What a brat! A silent display of fatherly love! Shameful!]

Ye Zi casually picked up some Cold-Dispelling Grass and put it into the bracelet. It seems Jiang Mo is lucky; he won't die in two years!

"Where is that thing?" Ye Zi removed the protective barriers from the two people and the beast.

Longbao slowly flew to the front and led the way.

Once Ye Zi entered the spatial rift, she released Luo Hengzhi, allowing Luo Hengzhi to move freely.

Luo Hengzhi followed behind Ye Zi, looking at every plant, tree, and fruit. She thought, "There really is such a place in the world. If I could ignore worldly affairs and spend my whole life sleeping here, wouldn't that be a blessing in life?"

Longbao's father probably wanted to keep his child away from the conflicts, which is why he "abandoned" his own child here!

"There is a clear spring in the cave ahead, which is indeed the sacred water of my dragon clan."

Little Dragon Baby proudly put his hands on his hips. His family's ancestral dragon water is enough to transform its owner, and a minor leg injury is nothing to him.

Long Bao turned around and looked at Luo Hengzhi Ye Zi, pointing to the cave ahead.

The deeper Ye Zi went, the more she saw the immense value of this secret realm. It was a place that a powerful cultivator had painstakingly transformed, and it was filled with countless treasures.

Longbao is truly unaware of his good fortune!

Looking at Long Bao's abstract little face, Ye Zi realized that the rumors about the dragon clan's few offspring were true, and the story of the dragon clan abandoning their children, recorded in ancient books a thousand years ago, was widely circulated.

Whether the dragons foresaw something or were trying to cover something up, they spread the rumor of "abandoning the child" to make everyone think that this dragon baby was worthless and unimportant!

"Go in. Once you're inside, your leg will be completely healed." Ye Zi looked at Luo Hengzhi, her gaze deep and unfathomable, a fleeting emotion flickering within her usually cool eyes.

Luo Hengzhi actually caught a fleeting glimpse of sadness in Ye Ziqing's cold gaze. He must have been seeing things and was just imagining things.

How could Ye Zi possibly be sad? Her true nature is that she is powerful and omnipotent!

"Take your master inside," Ye Zi instructed Long Bao. "Protect him well."

Longbao nodded its little head vigorously: "Master, come here."

Luo Hengzhi followed Long Bao and stepped forward. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed that Ye Zi was still standing in the same spot, so she turned around and glanced at Ye Zi.

Ye Zi looked into Luo Hengzhi's eyes, hoping that those eyes would one day be filled with stars and brimming with brilliance!

"You can come back whenever you want!"

Ye Zi looked at Luo Hengzhi's back and spoke.

Luo Hengzhi assumed Ye Zi was referring to his trip down the mountain, so he casually responded and followed Long Bao into the cave without turning back.

Ye Zi stood at the cave entrance, not moving for a long time. She was so selfish, forcing Luo Hengzhi to stay by her side just because of the balance of the heavens. This was unfair to Luo Hengzhi.

Moreover, Luo Hengzhi has his own things to deal with, and she can't get in his way!

Perhaps, only today, did she see the real Luo Hengzhi, whose eyes held a destiny unique to him.

Ye Zi, as a Daoist partner, was excluded!

Ye Zi can't participate!

Ye Zi had no way to intervene!

Ye Zi, however, could not remain indifferent!

Ye Zi stood at the cave entrance for an unknown amount of time, and only left after confirming that Luo Hengzhi was safe and sound inside the cave. She then returned to Lingju Temple.

"Hey! Hey! Hey~ Don't go! You two can't be separated, you two are locked together! You've already formed the Dragon and Phoenix Seal, how can you be separated!"

Hidden among the clouds high in the sky was a young boy in white, with a cute face and baby fat, and his whole being was surrounded by an ethereal aura!

Seeing Ye Zilu and Hengzhi part ways, the ethereal young man stomped his feet anxiously on the cloud, his eyes reddening, and he was about to burst into tears at any moment!

The boy looked down at the mortal realm, his voice trembling with sobs as he murmured, "Big boss, weren't we already bound by my Heavenly Dao Contract? How can we separate? You can't separate! If you separate, you'll kill me!"

The little Heavenly Dao of this world watched Ye Zi's departing figure with a helpless expression, then sat down on a cloud with a tragic and lonely air, and cried out loud.

"At first, I tried my best to keep you two apart, but one of you escaped death and the other bravely endured the suppression and silently cultivated."

"Okay, now I'm begging you two to be together, what are you doing! Holding hands every day is so sweet, why did you suddenly break up for no reason!"

"What are these big shots up to? I'm just a nobody in the Heavenly Dao realm. All I want is to live a good life. Is that so unreasonable?!"

"Why did I have to let a great god reincarnate in my small town? Well, now all three of them are gathered here. None of them are people I can afford to offend, yet I've provoked them all! Am I doomed?!"

"What am I supposed to do! I'm just a tiny Heavenly Dao. You great gods are fighting, why does my little world have to suffer in the end? Why?!"

"You even have to work overtime to cover for Lingju Temple on weekdays. Boss, especially your wife, she doesn't know how to restrain herself at all when she goes to the mortal realm. She flies around on her sword at will. Does she know how much of a commotion this will cause in the mortal world?!"

"If it weren't for my busy work, leaving those mortals speechless, only able to vent their frustrations online, which were then treated as special effects and no one believed them, would your Lingju Temple still be as leisurely as it is now! If it weren't for my hard work, your temple's dilapidated gate would have been trampled down by mortals long ago!"

"Fine, if you don't want to thank me, I just beg you two big shots to do me a favor and cultivate diligently. Only with your combined efforts can I, a mere Heavenly Dao, slow down my demise, or even have a sliver of a chance to survive!"

Lingju Temple

Master Yunqing was already standing at the door when he saw Ye Zi returning alone.

"Master." Ye Zi walked to Yun Qing Zhenren's side, her usually cold face showing a different expression, her eyes lowered, unable to hide her disappointment.

Master Yunqing: "Personal karma is beyond the control of one's Daoist partner."

Ye Zi: "Yes, Master, I understand."

"Grandmaster, Master, what are you doing here? I need to go down the mountain to the Li family's old residence." Jiang Mo walked out with high spirits, his face radiating a sweet, almost cloying, air of romance.

"Why go to the Li family?" Master Yunqing asked.

Seeing the imposing, stern expression on Master Yunqing's face, which had been so kind just moments before, Jiang Mo replied softly, "Grandmaster, I know the rule in our temple that underage people cannot leave the mountain, but I am already an adult, so I cannot leave the mountain either?"

Ye Zi: "I only want to ask you why you suddenly want to go to the Li family?"

Jiang Mo: "Oh, my girlfriend is from a collateral branch of the Li family. A few days ago, she asked me to accompany her back to the Li family's old house. But my grandfather suddenly fell ill, so I couldn't go. She just called again to urge me. I thought since I'm already in Qingyong City, it wouldn't be too much trouble to go. It would also be a good opportunity to meet her parents."

After listening, Ye Zi looked at Master Yun Qing. Master Yun Qing's gaze swept over Jiang Mo from top to bottom, finally settling on the accessory Jiang Mo was wearing around his neck.

Master Yunqing: "What's that on your neck?"

"This?" Jiang Mo took out the pendant he was wearing around his neck. "This is a family heirloom of my Jiang family. It is this pendant that has protected me from bad luck so that I can live to this day."

"Is this talisman also said to prolong life?" Master Yunqing asked.

"Yes, can this amulet from my master really prolong life?" Jiang Mo handed the amulet forward, wondering if his Jiang family had produced immortals in the past.

Master Yunqing picked it up, looked at it, and then handed it back to Jiang Mo: "It has some effect. Go."

“Master, I’ll be back soon. Can I bring my girlfriend with me? Master, please check if she has any spiritual roots. She’s the only one who isn’t afraid of me getting cold.” After saying this, Jiang Mo walked down the mountain along the main road. His girlfriend would come to pick him up.

"Master, can that plaque really prolong life?" Ye Zi could only smell the unique fragrance of spiritual herbs, but she couldn't tell what the plaque was made of.

Master Yunqing: "It only has some minor effects on people. It's just that it's been around for a while and contains a rare spiritual herb."

Speaking of spiritual herbs, Ye Zi took out the Cold-Transforming Grass and handed it to True Person Yun Qing: "I found it in the secret realm left by the Dragon Clan for the Dragon Treasure."

"Yes, it's the Cold-Dispelling Grass." Master Yunqing put away the spiritual herb. "Let's go, let's go to the Li family together. We should also deal with the Li family's inner quarters."

Space Rift

Luo Hengzhi emerged from the cave, carrying a pair of black boots, which he intended to return to Ye Zi.

His leg has fully recovered, and the boots should be returned, as they are magical artifacts.

Although he cannot fly without these boots, he should be able to cultivate. One day, he will be able to ride the wind and tread on qi on his own, instead of relying on external objects.

Seeing Luo Hengzhi standing at the cave entrance looking around, presumably searching for Ye Zi, Long Bao reminded him, "Master, there are only the two of us here now."

"She actually left." Luo Hengzhi sensed that Ye Zi had returned to Lingju Temple.

Hengzhi then realized that Ye Zi's last sentence did not refer to his going down the mountain, but rather to telling him that he could return to the Taoist temple at any time.

They've let him off the hook, so I won't go back. I'm never going back!

If I have no further contact with Ye Zi, that would be for the best!

After spending this time together, Lingju Temple and Ye Zi had been kind to him, and he didn't want to face Ye Zi in life and death one day!

For some reason, Luo Hengzhi felt inexplicably down at this moment!

Luo Hengzhi didn't let himself wallow in negative emotions; there were still many things waiting for him to do. Luo Hengzhi lowered his head, and the hand that was holding his boots paused for a moment.

When did the jade ring return to his hands? Luo Hengzhi clearly remembered that he took off the jade ring and put it on the bed!

Unable to figure it out, Luo Hengzhi first put the boots into her ring.

Seeing Luo Hengzhi looking down at the ring, Long Bao explained, "Master, if this magical artifact has already been bound to you by blood, it will follow you like a shadow. Even if you take it off, it will come back. This is the contract, and you can't give it up!"

Upon hearing Long Bao's words, Luo Hengzhi froze, her heart skipping a beat: "The contract... you can't let go?"
